YAY! Miracles is Coming to Town Chicagoland PSers! GTG, Anyone?

Yessssss, so exciting!! But it''s going to be so freaking cold. Thank goodness there will be enough PS''ers to keep me warm.

I just made my hotel reservations Monday. I''m trying to get in shape by playing with my new WiiFit Plus, but tonight I had chips and salsa before the movie and lots of buttered popcorn.

I guess I should start figuring out what to wear so I don''t freeze.

I''ve never made it to a PS GTG before, so I''m extra excited for this one.

Miracles--Wear layers. Lots and lots of layers.
Chips and salsa, and popcorn, are my two favorite snacks. Now you''re making me hungry!
 
Ditto layers, Miracles. And don''t forget hat, scarf and gloves. Definitely gloves.

Now you have to figure out what jewelry to wear!

I will likely may skip the lunch as I can''t eat the food (and perhaps spend the time looking at other exhibits).

I would love to come out to this and see everyone''s bling as well. I''ve always been a little nervous with GTG when people come on the boards and tell the world where are bunch of diamond wearing folks are gathering. How are these generally arranged?

Sizzle, we have typically met at a very public place (hotel, convention center) in the past. This year we''ll be meeting up at the Field Museum or somewhere downtown. It''s just a risk you take, I suppose. I won''t be wearing much bling, we usually let DeeJay do that and act as her bodyguards. Just make sure your insurance policies are current, and I''m sure you''ll be fine.

Besides, my bling is minimal as everyone already knows. No fear. We''ll be in the middle of Chicago in crowds, we''re as safe as everyone else.
 
I will have to see if I can join y''all for lunch (I am ALL about the pizza), but I am cordially inviting you to see the V. Monologues if you''d like to see.
 
I''m going to try and make it - I''m still new around here and have never tried for one of these GTGs. Yeah!

Miracles--I''m at work right now but it''s in the ''20''s and snowing. I am wearing a long cotton ribbed tank, button-down oxford, wool sweater vest, and corduroy blazer. I have tights, socks, JCrew chinos, and boots on my lower half. When I go out for lunch, I''ll take off the blazer, put on a fleece-lined hooded sweatshirt, 3/4 length down coat, scarf, and gloves. Monday it was 9 degrees and I actually wore pink thermal long underwear in addition to a very similar outfit. I do not like to be cold.
 
Monnie, I hate the cold too!

Miracles, I''m wearing a cable knit sweater, jeans, Uggs, a scarf, a down jacket with a warm hood, and gloves. And I really do not deal well with the cold!

Layering is REALLY important though because you''ll probably want to check your coat and other stuff at the museum otherwise it''ll be way too warm as we''re walking around.

I''ll never forget that drive; and I doubt that anyone else will either who was there.

DeeJay does a lot of things.

I look forward to seeing her and monarch again; and everyone else (assuming I can make it).

Yup, still haven''t forgotten that drive either, Perry!!! LOL! I hope you''re able to make it, won''t be the same without you.

I am planning to make a long weekend of this GTG, I have several friends I want to visit in the area and am going to take Friday off and possibly Monday as well for traveling to and from. That way I can still make it even if the weather is inclement, I have 4WD but will allow myself plenty of time.
 
I read my associate the list of clothing items y''all are wearing and we just laughed. We really can''t understand the layers on the feet thing.

Uggs I can do...but tight, socks, chinos, and boots? Lions, and tigers, and bears, OH MY!!

We are so going to freeze, but I don''t care. I will find a way to pack light, but warm. Somehow.

If it makes you feel better, today I was wearing a t-shirt, sweater, jeans, and knee-high socks, covered by a coat, scarf, and boots (plus mittens). And I''m a Texan, so this cold weather thing isn''t in my blood!

Typically one of the Chicago folks (DeeJay?) sets up a meeting location at a local resturant (or a hotel with a resturant) (Spelling..??)

I request a non-smoking meeting location.

Then we chat a bit - have lunch (or something) and head to the event.

People traveling may or may not post the hotel they are staying.

I will probably have other business in the area (if I can make it) - and I tend to stay in a hotel on the west side of town (so to speak); and I suspect I will do the same again unless there is a reason for me to change. I am nominally about a 4 hour drive away.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you all.

I would be much more excited if it wasn''t so damn cold. I don''t want my boogers to freeze! YIKES!!

I found out the pizza place I ate in WAS Pizano''s on E. Madison. I don''t know if the group wants to go there because I have to go eat there on Thursday night. I am going to gain 10 more lbs on this trip because I won''t be able to walk anything off, but I am sooooo excited to meet everyone and have PS''ers to play with.

My only requirement for the eating place is that they serve alcohol.

Okie dokie...I emailed admin.

I have to attend a retreat this weekend (so bummed because I was planning on shopping for Chicagowear last minute). This means I won''t be able to access email until Monday and then I take off for Chicago early Wednesday morning. Hopefully we will have figured out a way to locate and/or notify each other.

I am having green beans for dinner to make room for Chicago Thin crust and wine. More pizza and more wine. And diamonds...darling...diamonds. I can''t wait for the exhibit.
 
Haven!!! Yes!!! Save them for me. I need them. Badly....very, very, badly.

Hi everyone,

Just to clarify, it would be great if ONE person could collect the names of everyone attending and use the report concern button here to let me know. Once I have a list, I can put you all on the new system.

As of right now I have no more information than anyone else, so it''ll be up to you to plan the GTG still as you would here, just simply in a more private place.

Unfortunately it is too complicated for me to send these out individually, so as soon as I have a list I am happy to send out the pertinent emails.
