Yes, I am totally bragging. Some of it is the same as what I posted last year. We added the vegetable garden, hanging baskets on the deck and long planters on the fence. A water feature in the back and one up front in the tub bed.
Packrat, your yard looks SO nice!! What an inviting place - your hard work really shows, everything looks so pretty. Beautiful job, I'd love to come over and hang out!
eta: I love the water features, too - I love being around fountains, very soothing and relaxing. Do your kids play around in them a little? Mine would have when they were little!
Packrat, it's absolutely stunning! Wish I could come give you a high-five. I love your thick happy hosta bed & am soooo jealous of the veggies -- too #*#$@*&& much shade in my yard to have one. You've obviously done a lot of work on the grass too. The whole thing invites the viewer farther back & is totally interesting everywhere you look.
You've also added a gazillion bucks to the value of your house. What a refreshing place it must be to spend time in!
Packrat, I LOVE your backyard! I am so jealous of your veggie garden! You have a wonderfully sized backyard and the space seems
allocated just perfectly. What a lovely place to hang out and play.
That's awesome! Your hostas, everything looks so healthy. How did you get some of those arial pics though?
In the last couple weekends we repaved our approximately 11 x 20' patio, so I know how much work the paved area must have been. And yours is alot neater (straighter) looking than ours.
Thanks everyone! It's really a lot of fun and thankfully we both enjoy working on it and coming up w/the ideas. We've been so nutso busy the last couple weeks we've not had a chance to take pictures. The ones from above JD took from the roof..some from the roof of the house and some from the roof of his back garage. I'm still working on JD for turning the front yard into a big garden..he's not much for it tho. There's a few more things we want to do and then..I guess we'll be able to spend more time enjoying it! We'd both love to find a way to parlay it into a job but..we'd probably just be like so..get some knockouts, daylilies and hostas and stick them in the ground and voila!
Packrat, I thought your yard was gorgeous before but now Wow!!! I love the water features and the symmetry of everything looks great, I really like how you put the bird bath and the flowers in with the vedgies, practical and pretty. I have been waiting anxiously for a how does your garden grow part 2 thread to see pics of everyones gardens and this just makes me want more!!! BTW always love the roof shots!
Wow, Packrat, that's an AMAZING back yard! I'm super in awe! Did you do everything yourself too? What veggies do you have planted?
I have a community garden across the street from my building that I have plants in. I have 4 tomato plants (2 grape, 1 heirloom, 1 roma), 2 bell pepper plants, 2 short cayenne peppers, 4 pea plants. I live in Chicago, so our growing season is MUCH later, but my peas are out! Yay! I have 4 little peas on my plants so happy.
