After all the grief about the previous ring, I went with a different setting. I know I know...

I ended up going with this Simon G setting... the center stone right now is fake... we ordered a 1.84ct sapphire for the center stone... Specs on the sapphire are as follows

Weight 1.84
Width 6.98
Length 7.08
Total depth 5.02
crown height .064
crown angle 23.7
table size 4.17
girdle .32
culet off center 9.9% (w:5.5%, L:8.3%)
Table off center 0.08mm

It will be lovely with a sapphire center. I love Simon G, they make gorgeous settings, and this is really beautiful!! Simon G is quality through and through. So good for you, as long as you are happy, WE are happy!!

I forgot to include:

Treatments: No enhancements
Color Intensity: Vivid
Clarity: Perfection (IF,VVS1)
Origin: Ceylon

why would we kill you? I think you made a great choice. Simon G makes a wonderful product, i love many of his designs. The ring you chose is just beautiful and will look just as stunning with a sapphire center.

I don''t think I realized how pricey sapphires are... the Fiance knew... but I had no clue... I believe the one we bought was $4000 per carat... but he wouldn''t let me be there when he paid... but I think I heard the lady on the phone correctly.

Thanks... I''m pretty jazzed... I hope those specs and what I think I heard the price was are good...

Pretty! Exciting that things are in motion for realzzzz now!

P.s. -- did you ever see that Shenoa setting in person? It *did* look lovely in the photos -- I''m just curious ...

I think you ended up with a much better quality setting! Very pretty, too!

No... it just seemed like too much hassel... they didn''t have one in stock... they thought maybe just maybe they could get one in stock... but they weren''t sure when it would actually be in the store... etc etc... I don''t think they were being shady... at this juncture, I can really say anything negative about them....

To be frank, I think my fiance was worried that if it took too long, I''d end up changing my mind

(if you remember, he''s been asking me for months)...

I think it''s a bit too pricey... but the finace didn''t think so... (maybe I lowballed myself

) $4200 for the setting and $4000 per carat for the sapphire.

Kill you??? Honey I'm gonna HUG you for going with a solid design line with a great reputation and great customer support instead of the other company. It's BEAUTIFUL, and I'll be honest, I like it MUCH better than the other setting... set with a gorgeous blue round sapphire *SWOON* it's going to be stunning!

You've got a great ring, your fiance is HAPPY with the expenditure (no matter how much the cost)... Gift Horse. Mouth... don't do it.

Just enjoy!

Thanks - as soon as I get the sapphire set, I''ll post the new pix!

You chose wisely

The final product will be stunning!

Look everyone else is coping out...you are right we are going to...

As a member of the firing squad...(apparently the only one holding on to my oath...)
I say, Kindastruck... be still honey, this isn''t going to hurt...it will all be over very quickly!

Squad...I call it first! I get it! Stand back the beauty is all mine!!

Have we ever killed for anything more beautiful?

Well, I must say this worked out quite well...for me. No garden variety sapphire...a Simon G workmanship. All and all great foils.

That is very pretty and will look gorgeous with a sapphire in it.

that is a truly beautiful setting. I saw some Natalie K stuff (related company) and the quality was top notch! It will look great with a blue sapph!
