yep.
If the tell a fib in their name how can you trust them about anything else?

Wait a minute, you can't always go by the name. If you do that then what about Dirt Cheap Diamonds?

I have looked at dirt cheap diamonds and have read alot of good things about them.....people in pricescope and diamond talk rave about them.....im no expert though and thats why im here to get opinions

Hi Walter,

I think the comments above are specifically about the fact that they are claiming "cost", but I don't think it is a charitable or non-profit organization, so they cannot be selling you diamonds at THEIR cost. Thus, the lie.....

Dirtcheapdiamonds does have a good reputation here and is very reputable to do business with. I take their name as a relative statement, relative to other retailers.

To answer your question, I have never heard of them and they don't have a presence here either directly or through satisfied customers that I am aware of, but maybe you can run some searches and see if they come up.

I went to their site and it looked like they had a lot of the same diamonds listed there that you can see here, with similar prices. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was their FAQ section. A few had some smart-alecky responses and there were some typos here and there. I know, that's being picky, but if you are a professional organization, I would expect someone to check the website for errors (I should probably spellcheck this post now!).....

In the end, though, if they are willing to send the stone to a third party before you have to pay, and it checks out compared to what they say on the site, and the prices are good, as is the stone, it should be ok. I just bought my new stone online via engagementringsdirect.com and it was great. He sent the stone to an independent appraiser prior to any money changing hands. I saw the stone first hand with the appraiser and we went through it in detail. Duly satisfied, I paid for the stone and left happy. That's the route to take, and most, if not all, of the vendors here seem to allow that. I'm obviously partial to engagementringsdirect.com, but to each his own.

Whatever you do, I wish you luck and hope you find what you are looking for.
