Hi, I was wondering if anyone could vouch for the quality of mountings from www.antiqueengagementrings.com?

The first and third listing have caught my attention http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=2

Also since many are so knowledgeable I''m open to suggestions from other vendors in similar styles that you may have run across.

Thanks,

some reason, the link doesn''t work.

Anyone?

I''m not sure why the link brings an error but it works to copy and paste.

You can type in the name in the Pricescope search function. For what you are paying, the quality is decent for the reproductions. I have read that many are happy with what they received but there are some that don''t like how uneven the engraving is, etc because it is a cast piece. It is ultimately up to you the quality that you are looking for.

Those are beautiful designs, but I''d probably want higher quality for an engagement ring. You might look at Singlestone, and Pearlman''s carries the Beverley K line which is very nice quality.

I can''t fault anyone for loving Singlestone''s designs but they are certainly pricey. I had two of their stock settings priced and let''s just say that they made Leon Mege and Maytal''s prices look like real bargains

Wow, that''s interesting. I had no idea Singlestone''s custom work was so pricey.

Anyway, I ordered a mounting from antiqueengagementrings.com several years ago and ended up returning it. The price was very good for a platinum mounting, but, to me, the quality just wasn''t there. The melee they used was quite nice (bright and lively), but I would rate the workmanship as only mediocre. The company is certainly reputable and I wouldn''t hesitate to buy an authentic antique ring from them -- Leigh, the owner, was very nice and accommodating and took the mounting back no questions -- but if you''re wanting a really finely done antique repro, I''d probably look elsewhere. I guess it just really depends what your budget is and how picky you are. Good luck!

My e-ring setting is from this vendor. I would agree with the others... the price is very good, but the quality of the workmanship is only acceptable. For me, that''s okay for now. Someday I will likely upgrade.

I did find Leigh to be pleasant in person. Not so good with responding to emails though, lol.

Good luck!

Anne
