I think even Jonathan would admit it was overdue. The new website looks fantastic. Even many of the settings and wedding bands are posted with different views (yay)! And there's jewelry posted as well.

There are a few glitches (not sure how this is green amethyst when it looks like a rhodolite http://www.goodoldgold.com/ecommerce/14k-yellow-gold-stackables-cushion-cut-green-amethysts-ladies-ring.html ) , but that's normal.

One thing I would like changed though is that the stone listings don't list the same information up front that they did in the old site: http://www.goodoldgold.com/ecommerce/0-67ct-l-si2-august-vintage-round-diamond.html I know it is all available on the lab report, but for ease of reference I would like table, depth, dimensions, and the angles (where available) listed up front, the way they were on the old site.

CONGRATULATIONS GOG! Your new site is great!

Just clicked through to check it! What a huge revamp~~ congratulations GOG!

Gypsy, if you click on "Additional information" on the listing for the stone, it should pull up the specs. I agree though, it is not as straightforward as before. I also liked their diamond inventory list before when you could pull up the full list of diamonds in a sortable table and add/remove columns of data, it made it much easier to compare different diamonds by their full specs.

Ahh. Good point. I would do away with that tab, and just have it posted outright.

And I agree about the search.

Yeah! I really like it too. Much more current. ;) Gonna spend some time just playing around. Fun!

I think the new site looks great too!

I liked the old diamond search feature better though. Maybe it's still coming, but there's no feature now to search for a stone by color, weight, price, etc. I think that's necessary, Jon.

Yup, saw it too. Good job Jonathan!!!

It looks great! I've always found searching on their website a bit difficult. I did like the very quick drop down information which is no longer, but anything new takes some getting used to and this is a huge improvement!

I guess it is currently a work in progress, I agree the drop down tabs are good, the missing info on the stones and some of things like the small melee sized stones they sell and AVR and AVC jewellery will hopefully reappear on there some time soon.

I was looking at it yesterday too. I agree the diamond search I don't like as well, but the settings are much easier to look at. Did you see the August Vintage Star Cushion? I am interested in seeing more about that.

Thanks so much for the heads up, Gyps!

Congratulations, Jonathan. That overhaul must have been a mammoth undertaking. It is very worth it. I actually watched a vimeo of you explaining the structure of a round brilliant diamond while I was playing around on the site. I liked the visuals. Great informative video for someone wishing to start out understanding the parts of a cut diamond!

Hugs,

Ohhhhh the estate jewelry side of the house is much better too! Yay Jonathan!

Wow, what a fantastic upgrade to the look and feel! Time to shop now...

There is much I like about the new website (congrats Rhino!) but another glitch I'll point out is that the diamond certificates do not open up large enough to actually be able to read the diamond angles/% and to see what is on the inclusion plot - or is this just me?

Fabulous improvement!!! Congrats GOG!!!

Huge improvement! Really does a lot more justice to the service and quality that GOG provides. I haven't bought from them but I have experienced their excellent customer service. Their new website reflects their high calibre of service. Now I must go play in it!

:appl: :appl: :appl:

Oh, very nice!!

And ditto Deb - a new website is no mean feat, congratulations on the launch!! :appl:
I especially appreciate the gallery view of available diamonds - it's MUCH easier to view on a smaller screen :sun:

Great work Jon! You've been working on this a LONG time, so you must be thrilled to have it up!

I did and I am in love. I've never liked the strong maltese cross of the AVC's, and this faceting under the table is just perfect. I love how it's still chunky but has more movement. I think this maybe tied with the Mark T Modern Cushion revealed just a little while ago on Brilliantly Engaged (formerly ERD) for my favorite cushion.

Love the revamp, great job Jon!

I looked at the new GOG website yesterday -- it is much easier to navigate. Though I really wish the melee-size diamonds (AVR, etc) were available!

Love the updated website. Congrats on the launch, Jon :appl:

Where is the estate jewelry? Can't find! Wanna see...

ETA: Never mind - found it. I was looking on the navigation bar instead of the boxes below.

Totally agree.
That's how I found my diamond . . . . hopefully it's coming

This. Exactly.

& I also love the 2.0 website upgrade. A few nip & tucks should get it perfect, but would love the ability to see the data & be able to search & sort by those variables. In the old version, I loved going to the category/shape I wanted to look at, then sort by size, diameter, color etc. Allowed me to consider so many different variables simultaneously with out having to click deeper, hunt & peck.

thanks Gypsy, I jumped straight on you tube couldn't find a video then came back to the topic, scrolled to the bottom and there you are being a legend as always

HAHAHAAHAHA! This is the first time I've been called a legend. I'm just me, and posting here is my hobby. But thank you for the smile. 8) I think my favorite compliment ever is being called a 'peach' by a lovely lady with a warm southern accent.

Gorgeous new cut! I prefer it over the original.
