Would you remove a Tiffany diamond from its setting to reset?
I bought a rectangular Lucida pre-owned to have a wearable, durable ring and it has suited that purpose. However, I wish the diamond were set far lower and the setting is a little bulky for my taste. Also I prefer a wider ratio for elongated cuts so I started thinking I'd appreciate this diamond more if it were flanked by narrow, parallel sidestones...
I'm considering resale to buy something else, or even starting fresh with a lab-grown (not sure I'm ready for that yet) but then I thought, I have this 2ct stone in hand and maybe I can make a project of it.
I do like the Lucida's relatively high crown
Alternatively, I am wondering if it's better to leave it intact and move on to something else. Especially now that heavier settings seem to be regaining popularity
