would you rather have a 2.5 ct E VS1 or 3.3 ct E SI1 RB assuming both are equally well cut and price

thanks for your feedback!

If the 3.3 was eyeclean AND I lived in a place where I would feel comfortable wearing that on a daily basis, I''d rather have that one!

I''d rather have the 2.5 E VS1 without a doubt. Two reasons...I''d always go for smaller and higher quality if the stones are large anyway, and I live in an area where a 3 carat stone would look waaaaay over the top. I really live VS clarity no matter the size stone, though.

3.3

I know I''ll get used to the size.

3.3 for me please! (as long as it''s eye-clean)

The smaller, higher quality stone. That is already a great size. I have pretty sharp vision and can inclusions annoy me. So I would want something that is eyeclean from all angles and would be willing to give a little in size.

What will you do with your beautiful LM setting though?? will he redo the head for for your new stone?

Ellen and I think the same as far as size so I vote for 2.5; you aren''t alone. hehe

In a 3.3 SI1, particularly an RB, the inclusion should be barely noticable. And even if you can see it, it just individualizes the stone and makes it truly yours! Ie - get the biggy!

Without a doubt, the smaller one.

Another vote for the 2.5 E VSI

Personally I think rounds get "gumball-machine-ish" over 3.... but that''s IMHO
(however, I would have no problem with a fancy around 6-9cts!)

The 2.5 E VS1 my other half has eagle eye vision and can spot inclusions really well knowing that he could see something would annoy the bageebaz out of me and I personally like the idea of high colour high clarity :). 2.5ct is seriously plenty plenty big :).

2.5 ct E VS1

3.3

I never thought I''d want an RB that large..........Until I tried one on! My face lit up and I thought it looked PERFECT on my hand. DH just closed his eyes and shook his head verrrry slowly.

ooh that''s a toughie but yeah, i agree with those that said the 2.50 stone. It''s still a big stone as well as being top quality. Only you can decide if you''d be happy trading in clarity for size though.

If it''s eye-clean, the 3.3.

2.5 ct. E VS1

I am a louper and would spend my time louping that baby!!

2.5 E VS1.

I''m going with mind clean, blame it on Dancing Fire.

I would find a 3.3 a little hard to pull off, then again, I think I''d be hard-pressed to rock a 2.5, but that doesn''t matter because you''re feeling like the 2.5 is too small for you. (Which is sooo unfortunate because your stone is so beautiful!) It''s such a swirling, sparkly whirlpool of a diamond; so photogenic and lively looking.

If the 3.3 is as beautiful as your current stone, only bigger, and is a completely eyeclean SI1, then I think it may cure your DSS with minimal compromise regarding the clarity. I''ve seen SI1s with inclusions that were difficult to find even under magnification, and those are the only SI1s that I would be comfortable going to from a VS1.

If price weren''t a factor, i''d get both! hyuk hyuk hyuk

I think my FI would faint at the thought of my trying either size on. Still, I think I''d go for 2.5 because it''s more "mind clean" for me.. and, i''m already squeamish about even trying on rings larger than a carat.

2.5 E VS1. I''d take quality over quantity any day. Also, a smaller and better cut diamond will always look larger than it really is.

3.3!

2.5ct here!

2.5 E VS1, mind clean to me means staying in the VS range.

Well it depends, Are bigger diamonds common where you live? (or will it be considered as over the top?) Is the 3.3 ct eyeclean? Or can the visible flaws be hidden under the prongs? If yes, then I would without a doubt go with the bigger stone...

I too would take the 3.3ct if it was eye clean - and I mean TRULY eye clean. I have sharp eyes and it would bug me if I could make something out.

*scootching next to the 2.5 crowd*
