Opinions would be greatly appreciated, they both seem extremely similar!

I wouldn''t!

Assuming the SI1 is also eye-clean, I would not pay more for the clarity.

I wouldn''t pay more either -- that''s $1500 in savings you can put towards a setting and I like the cut of the second one better, too.

Sorry forgot to mention, diamond 1 actually comes out to ~11k from fatwallet.com cash back and cash back using credit card.

nope...as long as the SI is eye clean...that''s perfect for me

Nopes!

ditto!

As the owner of a VVS2, I guess I have to say yes!

However, the purchase of the VVS2 was not so much for the higher clarity, but it was a stone I loved that was priced well, and being above SI1 was mind-clean at the time for me. I''ve since expanded what I would define as mind-clean to include SIs!

So I guess it''s better said that I would have paid more for the clarity in the past, pre-PS, but not so much now. Go for the SI1 if it''s eye-clean to your standards!

No, SI1 SHOULD be eye clean- it''s really hard to justify paying for what you can''t see :-)

I would.

Absolutely
My diamonds are VVS1 to VS1.

But it doesn''t matter what I think.

You have to find your own comfort zone by viewing stones in person.

It depends, I wouldn''t go out of my way to get high clarity but if it was a diamond I loved which happened to have it then yes.

Depends on carat size and shape. I would pay for clarity for emerald cuts, asschers and stones in excess of 2 carats. But unlikely for others e.g. round brilliants, princess, cushions, omcs or radiants as long as they are eye clean of course.

I own a VVS2. I have eagle eyes and scrutnize my diamonds all the time, to know its a high clarity i do this less.
I have own SI diamonds, which are fine too! I rather have the higher clarity and lower color. you are not saving a whole lot more by going with the SI stone, I would jump on the VS one :)

All things being the same I would not pay extra for the clarity if the SI is eyeclean (I guess I''m cheap

)!

I wouldn''t either.

For earrings and pendants, I feel an SI is okay, but for an eng. ring, I would be more picky (as in I''d probably purchase an SI, but I''d have to see lots of images it first before deciding.) If the "bunch of white feathers," bothered me, I''d probably shop around more instead of immediatly buying a stone with higher clarity.

I would pay the ~$500 for a higher clarity but that is just me as I''m not sure I am ready for a SI1 at this stage in my life. I bought a VS2 for the comfort. It really depends on what you are comfortable with as I paid the extra cash knowing I am happy with the clarity vs being unhappy.

i own a vvs1 because FI purchased it, for an e-ring i would spend the extra cash for better clarity, but for a right hand ring or diamonds for other jewelry, i wouldn''t, personal preference of course

Diamond #2 is sold. Here''s the idealscope for the 1.54 diamond #1. What do you think?

Bump.

1) Any comments on diamond #1 specs or its idealscope image? Insight is appreciated, we are looking to buy soon. thanks for your help!

2) fatwallet.com discount won''t work since i''m already using the pricescope discount. Is $11,590 reasonble for what i''m getting for diamond #1?

3) how big of a deal will the needle in the table be? I see a shadow in the idealscope image.
