I'm about to order my Roberto Coin 7 stone band. There was a mix-up in the pricing, and I'm getting it for a steeeeeal and paying with leftover wedding gift cards. The stones are G/VVS. I asked if I could get a better price if they dropped the stones down to eye clean SI. But since the price was already too low to begin with, after the discounts SI vs. VVS will make only $65 of difference in the price.

Is it worth it? I mean, it's only 'mind clean'. Which usually means nothing to me. But it's so little money that...

What would you do? VVS or SI, and spend that $65 of gift card on something else? A new toaster?

But the VVS lasts forever... ? ??

Wow. I''d spend the $65, and enjoy not seeing anything when you look at your wedding band under the loupe!

For $65 I''d go with the VVS.

Oh, wow, I wouldn''t have to think half a second on that! Only $65 for VVS vs. SI???? YES!!!

I paid a LOT more than that to upgrade my Memoire band from SI to VS.

in a heartbeat!

Yeah I can't believe it. Here are the stats. Here is the price. Read 'em and weep.

1/2ct, 7 stone, VVS, G, branded "Cento" cut diamonds
Roberto Coin nice substantial platinum u-prong setting, with a sweet li'l ruby inside

Total cost (with discounts): $1040.

Yum-o.

If I'm not mistaken, that's even cheaper than Facets! Only it's a signed designer piece in a much nicer setting!

yay!

The VVS......no question, at all!

I agree...$65 is nothing in the long run. Get the VVS stones and post LOTS of pics!

Heck, an empty platinum setting would cost that much! What a great deal for a designer piece!!! (Do they have more? I''ll bet there''d be a line of us waiting to call to order one at that price!)

Absolutely! I can''t wait to see it.

Of course I'd do it. VVS2 vs SI for $65?

Thanks Folks. I'm going to do it. VVS for meeeee! Does that stand for Very Very Syched? Oh, wait a minute.

Only problem now is that she is saying it will be 10-12 weeks to make it.

The original sales rep lady (trunk show) said she could rush it through in 2 weeks if SHE put the order through, but the store lady is now saying that's not true.

Part of me is wondering if this is a commission issue. Hmm. Probably, she's taking a hit already for miss-pricing the ring.

But I'm moooooving across the country in 12 weeks! I want my ring before!
