Would you exchange it for a bigger size

Saw this post in your thread in another forum. Even without seeing the plot I would have said not to upgrade for an inclusion that large. Then again, just because it is easily viewable in the still photos I'm not positive it would be easy to see once it is on your hand and constantly moving around. I think what would make the decision easier is if you can have the stone shipped to you and see it in person and decide for yourself whether you can tolerate it or not.

It's interesting how everyone is so different when it comes to clarity. The bottom line is, only YOU know how you feel about that needle. The fact you've posted about it means that maybe you're not sure you could live with it. What do you think?

Speaking for myself, I don't really mind inclusions as long as they're not easily visible. If you can just about see it under a bright light with your ring held up to your nose and squinting until your face is scrunched up, then I don't mind. But if you can easily see a large black thing when you hold your hand up, I wouldn't like that.

But speaking about most SI1 inclusions, which fall into the invisible-without-a-loupe category, then I don't mind those. Diamonds are products of nature; in the main, they have birthmarks. It's part of a natural product of the earth.

If this diamond is eyeclean, I'd get it. If you can easily see the inclusion when you hold your hand up, I wouldn't. I think that's quite unlikely though - these pictures are hugely magnified.

But that's just me. Only you know what you really want.

It does sound as if the 1.70 is too small, so perhaps you should really consider this stone, or another one.

The idea of having a SI1 stone does not bother me a bit. In fact, the very first diamond I owned was an eye-clean SI1 with just a few small feathers around the edge. I haven't had such luck of finding another one just like that. Most of the SI1s I've seen so far look absolutely horrendous with large clouds or black spots right in the middle of the diamond. This diamond is the best looking out of the bunch for my current budget but we will just have to wait an see what the gemologist says. This will be my forever RB for daily wear, and my next stone will probably be an emerald cut. A girl can dream, right?

I would take the jump. The inclusion is probably invisible unless you look for it and a guarantee that its your stone for identification.

My used to want to stick to VS1 or above. Then I got my first Si1 stone ... and I've never looked back. These days, I think I consider clarity to be the least important of the 4C's. I'll get high clarity if everything else is EXACTLY what I want, but otherwise? SI all the way, baby. Even people around these parts, most people don't spend the bulk of the time they admire their diamond doing so under a loupe ....

The best test is to get hold of the stone and then ask a few of your friends to try and find the inclusions with their naked eyes w/o telling them the location of the inclusions, if they can't find the inclusions then I'd go for the bigger stone.
