Would you buy this i1 diamond?

That looks pretty clean for an i1

Thanks!

I could never tell with the videos and how the diamond actually looks in person vs. video.

If it is for a ring and has a feather at the edge I would not unless I was planning on bezeling it.

Poses a risk to durability.

Does it break the surface? What did the gemologist say?

If he says the feather is a risk I would not buy it. But if it is safe, then why not.

Also for a pendant? Absolutely, I would.

They said it runs along the edge of the table

I'll ask the gemologist some more questions around this, but any issues with this diamond off hand from looking at the video I should be concerned with?

What do you think?

I think you need to ask what the means for the durability of the stone long term. If it gets knocked is the whole thing could to cleave like it's a fault line in a quake?

Thanks.. is there a possibility of a feather that is on the edge to be safe?

I'm sure the seller would say that for the sake of selling it, but is there a way to know whether a feather is safe?

No additional issues.

Just the 'there's a giant feather in an I clarity stone' issue. Plus there are other smaller feathers it looks like. :wavey:

No JA will not say it's safe for the sake of selling. That's why we recommend them on here. A 8k purchase isn't going to make them start lying now.

You need to talk to them and see what they say as they have the stone in hand.

Alternately, have it sent to you and take it to an independent (KEY WORD) appraiser before getting it set and see what they say. That's probably what I'd do to be safe. JA has a 60 day return policy and pays shipping both ways.

Here's a list of appraisers: https://www.pricescope.com/appraisers

Thanks the service has been great and I really like how quick they are.

I'm just an average guy that is learning about diamonds! I'll ask the gemologist again about the durability. Thanks so much!

It looks pretty clean to me. I would order it and see it in person to see whether it would
Bother me or not. It looks like a nice stone at a really good price.

Great news! Gemologist just got back and indicated there is no durability concerns otherwise they would have indicated that to me...

I had asked the prongs could cover the feather, but I guess it's at the girdle so it wouldn't be possible.

Any other questions I should ask?
