Would you buy this diamond for this price?

Carat: 0.86
Color: I
Cut: Ideal
Clarity: VVS2
Polish: EX
Symmetry: EX
Depth: 60.1%
Table 56%
Girdle: Thin to Medium, Faceted
Faint Fluorescence
Measurements: 6.17 x 6.22 x 3.73

Price: $4,712

I have tried to do research on all of the different aspects of purchasing a diamond, but would still like to have someone elses opinion on maybe something I am not catching. This is a diamond off of Blue Nile, and I know there are free returns, but since I can't see the diamond I would like a little reinforcement. Thanks!

reserve the diamond, then share the link to the certificate be it GIA or an AGS certified stone and we can give you some additional insight

And to who ever else looks, I forgot something really important. Round diamond...

I would personally go higher in color and lower in clarity. VVS2 is overkill in my opinion...it will look the same to the naked eye as VS1-VS2.

Totally agree with SLg. I would drop in clarity- VVS2 won't look any different than an eyeclean vS2 or even an SI1. Then I would look for higher in carat or color.

I purposely chose the color I because I like a little warmth in diamonds, plus sparkle its more important to me than color, but I am nervous to order a si1 or vs2 in the hopes that it will be "eye clean" because I can't see the diamond. It would be nice to drop the clarity and up the carats though.. Maybe I could call blue nile when I find a specific diamond and have them tell me if it is eye clean..

I am not sure that BN provides this service but you might be able to find a VS1 or VS2?

Yes, blue nile does provide this service. It does take a couple days but you could probably have them look at a couple at a time. This isn't saying they dont call the cutter and have them look though, which is what they most likely do. They do have some in house though, I believe.

I color is perfectly fine! Wasn't sure if you had seen one in person or not.

If you are nervous about inclusions VS1 or VS2 would be a safe bet, if you don't want to pay for a VVS2

The crystals on the 1.01 look huge. I doubt it is truly eye clean. I would stick with SI1-VS1 personally.
