They just got the diamond in, so there aren''t any images uploaded at the moment. I originally wanted to wait for them, but it seems that there''s someone waiting to buy the diamond as soon as my hold is over tomorrow morning. In the meantime, Celina at WF is going to try to get a copy of the AGS report and find out if it''s a New Line or Classic. I always see on here that "you can''t go wrong with an ACA" but I just need a little more assurance and advice since I''m a newbie. Plus, I know that a .998 is a pretty rare thing. Should I leap on it?

HCA, if I calculated correctly, is 1.1.

Price is $6,543.

Thanks so much!

It sounds beautiful to me!!! Is it the F VS2?

lol You can''t get anymore "just under a carat" than that!

Good deal.

If they are calling it an ACA, I would have no problem buying it!

Yes, it is. Sorry, I didn''t realize I forgot to include that information.

0.002 and the price would have leapt up quite a bit! Can''t comment on the diamond itself due to forum rules, but you have to know that you''d be paying more for the same look if the diamond weighed in over the 1.00 carat mark

I don''t see a lot of New Line''s on WF website at this moment, I guess it''s because of the GIA new way of grading diamond cut. That''s a pitty!

Your diamond should be very nice if it''s an ACA, old or new line are both fine.

Well, I hardly think you''d be "compromising" here.

No problem! I was just momentarily confused.

Sorry Lisamarie,

didn''t mean to hijack for a minute there. Queenmum hadn''t posted in ages and I was surprised to see his thread. LOL.

He should post more on Pricescope we miss him, he has a wonderful sense of humor.

And I love the diamond you chose BTW.

I shouldn''t have any issues with it being a VS2 right? Any inclusions on the stone will be minor? Is there anything I should specifically ask about, like feathers near the girdle or anything like that?

Thanks so much for all the responses so far!!! I really appreciate it.

To be prudent, as if it''s eyeclean. I believe it''s like 1 out of every 100 VS2''s are not. Chances are it''s just fine, but ask.

And you can ask specifically what they are if you''d like, but they shouldn''t pose any problems.

AGS report is here:

http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/certificate.aspx?idno=906698&file_name=1

Seems like there''s a lot of stuff going on here. Should I be worried?
What do you mean? On the clarity plot? I think it looks pretty benign. Did you ask whiteflash if it is eyeclean? What a cool (and money-saving) ct weight!
Yes, the clarity plot scares me a bit although I know they can be misleading. Whiteflash says that since it''s VS2, I don''t have to worry about it not being eyeclean. The person I''ve been talking to hasn''t actually said she''s seen the stone though.

Thankfully the diamonds don''t have all those red dots on them!

I saw that stone and was tempted to buy it just because it is a terrific deal!!! I knew somebody was going to be awfully lucky to get it! The clarity is great...no inclusions in the center! You would have paid a couple thousand more for the same stone had it been 1 ct.!

Hmm, so that means you have to commit to the purchase before knowing for certain that it''s eyeclean? That''s a little annoying. VS2 is generally safe, expecially since the inclusions are not in the middle or right under the table. But still, it would be nice to know for certain before sending the money.

Lets put it this way, grab it or else someone else will! It is a great value and almost certain to be eyeclean. Remember that the plots point out every possible inclusion, but what is hard to remember is that they will be clear, so more than likely to be eyeclean. If it is an in house stone your SA should have no problem pulling it for you to make sure it is eyeclean. Just ask.

OK, I just rechecked the email. She said that it IS eye-clean. I only have until tomorrow morning to decide. I guess I''ll sleep on it.

I would jump on it. Ditto on you can''t go under 1 carat than that. i think it will be a beautiful stone.

Lisa, I just wanted to reassure you that you won't be stuck with something you don't like. I know it's unnerving to make such a large purchase without seeing first; I was in that position as a consumer myself five years ago.

Most of us vendors here are pretty conservative in what we call 'eyeclean', so if it's eyeclean you'll likely be just fine, but most of us also have really generous return policies. Those are wonderful 'insurance' because you can always return it if you happen to have those mega hawkeyes! LOL
