Would You Add More Charms To This?

A thought. If you are worried about recognizability, why not have the medical symbol engraved on the back side? You may lose the tiffany hallmark, but probs worth it. Aaaaand, if the clanking of the charm really bothers you, you could probably have the bracelet modified and use the charm as a plate in the links, like a more traditional medical alert bracelet.

Just a thought!

Hi Alex, what interesting stories !

So sorry to hear you can't get this design in the UK.
But I was thinking if the charm itself is rather bulky and clangy, why not modify the bracelet by removing the tiffany charm and replacing it with the caduceus from the med-id site. I assure you it's a bit lighter, but not thin or cheap feeling at all. You could have the best of both worlds that way.
just a thought.

@elliefire99 and @tigertales Both fabulous suggestions! Thank you for the input! I guess possibly attaching the disc into the chain might be an option. It’s not like I plan to ever sell it as pre-loved one day, with all it’s writing on the back!

Well, it's SO important if hubby is away, or there's no one to speak for you! So glad we all could give you positive input, as well as encourage you to wear whatever you choose in great health!

I've been wanting to tell you how much I enjoy your GORGEOUS D color pear. Every time you post it catches my eye. It's so elegant and suits you well.

My atavar is my new 2.50, G SI1...what do you think? Did we choose well? I'll have to post some pics in the SMTB threads, but I've been shy 'cause it's not "branded" per se. We worked with my jeweler of 20+years whom I love.

I'm not really sure that 'Charm Bracelets' are very fashionable per se, but I have this heavy Tiffany disc bracelet that I have had for many years. Engraved on the back is medical information about my clotting disorder & blood type. I am supposed to wear this 24/7 & it was what I chose to get when I was advised to wear a 'Medical Alert' bracelet, as quite frankly, the typical Medical Alert stainless steel bracelets made me shudder, as I'm sure fellow PSers fully understand!!

The problem I have with this bracelet is that it is WAY chunkier than I imagined it would be & the disc rattles constantly, which I struggle to make peace with. When my husband bought it moons ago, I wore it constantly on my right wrist for about a month. It really peed me off. I'm right handed & the disc clattered on everything. Everything. The chain is short so it doesn't roll up & down my arm, it's more that the disc is large & very dangly.

So, should I learn to overlook the rattle of the disc & adsorb it as a part of my body? Do I wear it alone on my RH, or stack it with my watch on my left, which I feel it overpowers? And should I add just a couple more sentimental charms, such as one for my children & husband, perhaps in 18ct yellow gold, to jazz it up a bit if I'm to love it more? @MrsKBP has the most BEAUTIFUL charm bracelet in the history of the world stacked with her watch & wedding set (she might attach a pic for me?), but is mine too bulky to achieve that look? And would more charms defeat the purpose & just 'lose' the medical information?

Or.... Can you show me a more lovely & unusual Medical Alert bracelet that you yourself own & wear that's more in keeping with PS taste? Whilst I realise that Tiffany bracelets don't break the bank , I don't think my husband would buy another, lighter chain for me. He doesn't do jewellery.

I like the look of your bracelet. I like either lots of charms or one big chunky one! Yours is perfect. You could always do a customedocal charm with some bling on it?
Here is a casual shot of mine. I like wearing it with leather bands and mixed metals. The charm bracelet and charms is from Heather B. Moore. Her charms are so incredibly sweet. They can be very personalized. I bet she could make you a very chic medical charm. They’re a delight to work with....

I love this thread as I am a huge lover of all things chunky, jangly, clanky, and clunky. My heart tag toggle closure Tiffany bracelet broke at the toggle several years ago. I think I'd worn it daily for about 3 years, so it was rather disappointing! I sent it off to Tiffany and they wanted $100 to repair it--it was really only a jump ring missing and I found that to be an exorbitant cost to have a sterling silver jump ring replaced! I kept the bracelet, then I let a well-intentioned neighbor of mine attempt to repair it. That was a terrible idea! The bar doesn't even fit through the circle now to close the bracelet.

My mother gave me a beautiful charmless s/s bracelet a few years ago for Christmas and I've been wearing that as a stacker since. Some days I wear my clunker of a Pandora bracelet along with that and my watch. If I had the Tiffany properly repaired I'd wear them all together! I love bracelets, probably as much as I love earrings (my favorite pieces of jewelry!) and I live for a good arm party. I snapped some pics for you. With a solitaire, with a Tiffany olive leaf band, without solitaire, with Pandora, with/without random s/s bracelet, etc. I am also vainly trying to hide my lack of manicure so my hands look weird, sorry! I think you could learn to love your bracelet as is. Maybe you see it as less than glamorous and cumbersome because you HAVE to wear it. If it were an elective choice I bet you'd find it a happier piece to wear.

You are right, I need to wear it & get over the rattle & disc bashing. And your bracelets look so lovely stacked, so I am inspired. My girls know that mummy is bleedy & my eldest in particular, who is 10 in a couple of weeks, knows the name of my condition & where to find my emergency cards. She came home from school once upset because she’d had a nasty fall & her hand took ages to stop bleeding. In the car, she was saying “I’m really worried I have Von Willebrands. I don’t want it! What if I have it?!” It is an inherited condition from a mother to a daughter, so there is a 50% chance she will have it. She won’t be tested until she is 12 due to the blood quantity required, but I have no worries that she has it as she’s doesn’t show any of the signs. She had taken a fair lump out of her hand! My 8 year old on the other hand, shows a couple of signs, so it’s her that i’m watching. Either way, it’s not the end of the world & if either of them do have it, they will be monitored & watched like a hawk, as am I by my fabulous Haematology Team.

Thank you for your lovely compliments about my pear! It is rather special & I do love it, as much as I completely covet everybody else’s rings on here. PS is a dangerous place for that! If my husband was open to the idea of an upgrade, i’d be ALL over another one! I would aim to keep my specs close, but just add a bit to the size. I know a woman who wears a 2 carat marquise solitaire, but it turns out she was engaged with a .50ct, then upgraded to a 1.25 & then finally to the 2 over many years. She has kept the same band & just had new heads fitted. I like the idea of doing this a lot!

And of course I noticed your huge diamond in your avatar! I even zoomed in on the arm shot of all your bracelets just so I could have a closer gander! You must post a thread for it as it’s absolitely lovely - branding isn’t relevant if you know a good jeweller who knows their salt. Please post it so I can see a billion more pictures!

I love ALL of them & the overall look you have going on! And you’ve totally hit the nail on the head: if I had been given this bracelet as a regular gift, I probably wouldn’t ever take it off, but knowing I SHOULD wear it makes me feel like my hand is forced & rebel against it! I took it off last night, as 48 hours with it on was rattling me, but I shall pop it back on tomorrow & stack a couple of other things with it. Thank you for your help!

Big Bother is watching you! Just after Christmas I went with the Juniors at my school to see a local Pantomime. Me going was a last minute decision & I at no point discussed it on Fbook, which is the only social media I use. I don’t even have WhatsAp. BUT THE VERY NEXT DAY..... I had 2 ads in my Fbook feed about local educational trips for pupils. Mr T says it will be because I had my phone with me & therefore my location was pinged. But wtf??!

Anyway, this bracelet is beautiful! Obviously designed by a woman - men would never dream up anything more than what isn’t functional  Going to check it out shortly - thanks for the info!

I didn’t go to the site but I will and check it out! I hope you and @Alex T can find something!

You're welcome! Let us know if you find one you like..:P2

Ok..I went to it and there are junk ads but if you go to the third one that says medical ids and click on that..there are gold ones...In the beginning there were gold filled but just scroll down..There are two that say medical and they are different so check them each..There was one that had the tag going horizontally which you would probably like @Alex T
