a friend of mine is somehow able to get a 50% discount at tiffany's and his gf is totally in love with the soleste. he's been saving for about a year and could probably afford tiffany's at full price but obviously, he wants to get the most BANG for his buck.

i've always believed that tiffany's is way over-priced, especially b/c name-brand up-charge, but at 50% off, i think it might be worth it.

what do you y'all think?

Something's wrong.
Sounds too good to be true.

Buyer beware.

Employees don't even get 50% off, so there's no way he's getting legit T&Co engagement rings at 50% off. From what I heard, employees only get 30% off max on any jewelry, and only 10% off the diamonds..

I told him the same thing and that he should double check.

I sure hope this guy doesn't get his hopes up. I've been expecting him to come to me in the coming months for e-ring advice for his gf (she's my old roomie and we had lots of ring/diamond convos), and my plan was always to bring him to my man, Yekutial at ID Jewelry. I have a feeling that we'll be meeting with Yekutiel very soon.

Ya, even employees don't get that discount. Hmmm..

I think if he gets a 50% discount I want to call him and ask him to please take me shopping! (It's too good to be true, though!)

ditto, take us ALL shopping ;)!

IF it's true, then yes it's absolutely worth it. I would just make sure it's a discount that applies to the diamonds and engagement rings. Maybe he does get 50% off but it's off their china and silver pieces. It's good that you asked him to double check.

I agree. I'd also want to know whether the piece is still eligible for their standard trade-in policy.
