Would like help finding the Perfect Ring Please

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for my *forever* ring. I'm looking for an OEC, either loose or in a ring. We've been looking and have found a couple that we really like. So far, what we've found is a 1.50 and a 1.80 (loose stones). The 1.80 is our preference so far. If I buy the 1.50, I have enough to put it into a SS setting. Yum! If I buy the 1.80, that leaves me with about $1,500 for a setting. So, if y'all would be so kind, to help us expand the search a bit since I've seen some real beauties that y'all have found and maybe are looking someplace we're not. ha ha Budget is $11K. Here are a couple of pics of rings here that I've seen and loved! Also, if you know of any settings with an antique vibe for $1,500, that would help also! Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you have a preference for what type of metal you want your ring to be?

I among sure if this has enough of an antique feel, but I think it is pretty and would probably fit a 1.3-1.8. I love the filigree on this one, and it's only 995, which is always a bonus.

Well, I'd prefer 18k or 14k gold white, but have seen some stunning settings in yellow gold lately. So I'm open to any suggestions. If you have any settings that you like, please post them! My DH and I have decided on the 1.80 so $1,500 is the budget for the setting. LOL...well, I did follow PS'rs advice and am spending the majority of the budget in the diamond and am soooo excited about it!! YAY!

Hey, that is the same thing I would do.....in fact I am. I spent all my money on the diamond and am saving up for my dream setting. Everything great is worth the wait, as painful as it is. Well I am going to go back to snooping for a setting....my one and a half year old is keeping me up tonight, so I have nothing to do. Haha.

I have never used them, but the seem to have good ratings.

Also, if you have your heart set on a SS setting.... Maybe you could wait a little to set it and save up he extra money for the setting?

Ok....so I went a little overboard, but I went to IDJ and I think some of their Gabriel and Co. Settings are really nice and have a vintage touch. I think this is it for me tonight, looks like my little night owl decided to sleep, so I am going to try as well

The three rings you posted vary widely in cut style, ct weight, and color. Which type of old cut are you looking for?

BTW The ebay ones posted so far are all very pricey IMO

I think decide on the diamond first. Can you post the two options you are exploring? OECs vary so much that I would focus on getting the right diamond (over small differences in size). If the smaller one is better, I would go for that .. and vice versa.

Here are pics of the 2 diamonds. We have emailed Grace and committed to buying the 1.79 because the color and clarity of the two diamonds are very close. The 1.45 is stated as being I color and VS2 on the EGL. The 1.79 is K color and VS1. We have emailed Grace to purchase the 1.79 because we both fell in love with the facet pattern and this is it...no upgrades! ha ha. Certainly, if anyone has thoughts on either or about our decision, please feel free to post them. Please keep in mind though, the 1.79 is, I believe, Armywife's diamond. Plus we're still looking for settings. ha ha

I really think with the facet pattern the diamond has (flowery and gorgeous), I'm really leaning more towards Kelpie's setting.

They are both great, but I agree with you, it would look amazing in Kelpie's setting. One of the reasons I initially fell for that diamond was the flowery facets. The pattern is just stunning. I cannot wait to see your ring
