I am debating between these two RB diamonds, and would appreciate any thoughts others have on which one to buy.

Diamond #1:

Carat weight: 1.19
Color: GIA Certificate says F; Independent appraiser, whom I found through PS, and her partner, and the grading machine, all say G
Clarity: VS1

Depth: 61.6%
Table: 55%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Medium faceted
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.81*6.85*4.21

Crown Angle: 34.5°
Crown %: 15.50
Pavilion Angle: 40.8°
Pavilion %: 43.0
HCA 1.3

Diamond #2:

Carat weight: 1.22
Color: GIA Certificate says E; haven''t yet taken to independent appraiser
Clarity: VVS2

Depth: 61.7%
Table: 55%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Medium faceted
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.84*6.87*4.23

Crown Angle: 34.5°
Crown %: 15.50
Pavilion Angle: 40.6°
Pavilion %: 43.0
HCA: 0.8

I''d appreciate any comments the experts may have, generally and on the following specifics:

1) The difference in clarity is immaterial to me, and the difference in price is not a deciding factor. The difference in color I can see in certain lights, but is it something that will be make a diference once the stone is set?

2) In most lights, Diamond #1 seems to have more fire. Does this make sense?

3) Diamond #1 looks a little larger, despite the smaller diameter. Does this make sense?

4) Should I be worried about the 40.6 pavillion angle on Diamond #2? Or (related I guess) the less than 1 HCA score?

Thanks for any and all comments!

Both cuts awesome and I wouldn''t worry about that. I think both are clarity overkill, I would drop to VS2/SI1 to save money or go bigger. Since you''ve seen both, I''d just pick the one you liked better if you are set on one of these two stones.

Both stones seem awesome. Given the choice, I''d pick the first. My preference is for those types ; lower colour & clarity, and HCA between 1 & 2. Stones HCA <1 aren''t my cup of tea. That said, you have both stones in front of you and can see for yourself. You are the best judge in this case.

Stone 1
Make sure the pricing is inline with a G VS1. Although the cert says F, you don''t want to overpay for it.

Stone 2
VVs is overkill.

Why not take both stones to the Independant appraiser and ask his opinion on both stones, ie why he would pick one over the other.
