Why would anyone cut this? I don''t know a lot about asschers. I have been looking seriously for about 2 months now and this is by far the worst I have ever seen. Here are the numbers. Pics to follow.

Certificate: GIA

Depth: 64.9%

What you think?

It looks awful.

I needed an aircraft carrier for my 747 and a round wasnt big enough.

Ok gang since this is supposed to be a site with pleasantries and kindness...and helpful advice... Let us not tear the little stone down. Poor thing...
15.gif
And well...

Would you spread a little love TO ME and explain what it is I am looking at that isn''t pretty? I can see the windmill isn''t...but what else is wrong? I am being serious this time. I would really appreciate a walk through. Any body up for it? I am a roundy...not as asshy...or is that assy? Ugh oh!

Is there any thing in the numbers that indicates the problem? Or is this a visual only? I am trying to learn, won''t you please be my teacher?

Well..., let''s see..., you have the "spread"
31.gif
, it''s a almost a 5.70 diameter....

Now seriously..., it is probably a 85%+/- yield from a perfect sawn octahedral rough..., so basically a polished rough!

I wouldn''t call it ugly..., (as I dont think there is such a thing as an ugly Diamond...), but due to the fact that PS''ers are educated here to certain standards of cuts..., this one would definitely NOT joint the well cut Asscher family!

But it can be considered a square emerald.....
27.gif

A Diamond like this with better symmetry could be potentially beautiful..., not necessarily for a lot of folks here..., but will be bought and enjoyed by many!

No need for glue storm...., it will stand on it "safely" by itself..., the square mm''s should take care of that end...
11.gif

Just try to avoid any tilting...

right a flat top like that kills fire.

Thats why its best to stick too smaller tables under 65% and crowns over 10%+

I''m hoping that was some person''s first attempt at cutting an asscher. I feel bad for the poor stone. He had so much potential.

HA! I love ya, strmrdr...always humorous.

Yeah - I have quite a forgiving eye, and man....that''s freaking horrible. Like a CZ you''d see set into $5 costume jewelry. Ouch. Hate to see what they''re charging for that.

What a waste of good rough.

I wonder - perhaps the cutter of that diamond, maybe it was his first try on an asscher??

Not a waste at all..., see the problem is..., it was not cut enough...

And probably not the cutters first try..., cutter is looking for a client to "try" his/hers "first" purchase...
