Hello lovely PSers

I''m on the hunt for a new diamond (posted a few days ago about starting my search for a fancy light yellow/fancy yellow stone), and would love to find a cushion cut with antique, blocky facets. I''ve heard so many beautiful things about Mark and ERD, I would really like to get in touch with Mark, but I''ve sent 2 emails since Thursday and received no reply.

Does Mark prefer the telephone? Is he just out of town? Does it usually take Mark a few days to respond to customer queries?

Thanks! It would help me to know what to expect.Hello lovely PSers

Hello there! I don''t know much about Mark at ERD. However, I too have heard wonderful things about him... so I''m not, by any means trying to bad mouth, just shareing my experiance.

Towards the end of June my SO picked out a setting at ERD. However, it only listed the price for platinum and we wanted 18k and it said to contact them for the other prices so we did. I sent an e-mail. We waited a couple days and got no response, so my SO made a long distance call to him and got Mark directly on the phone, asked about the e-mail, Mark said he had been busy and he would definatly get back to us the next day. The next day came and went... we waited quite a few days and sent another e-mail to which we also go NO RESPONSE.

This saddened me, since I assumed the customer service from PS vendors was always very "on the ball". I figured if he wasn''t interested in our business that''s his loss and went else where.

I hope you reach him soon, just wanted to share my experiance!!

Goodluck!

FI and I just had a setting done with Mark at ERD. He''s great to work with and a very genuine guy, but he does sometimes get really busy and doesn''t get back to you when he says he will.

Also, I know during the time we were working with him he was having some familly issues he was dealing with.

Basically, he''ll definitely get back to you, but not always by when he says so. For instance, when we were waiting for the CADs of the ring, we ended up waiting an extra few days than what he originally told us. He''s definitely someone you have to keep calling to check up on things.

Usually, it''s best if you can give him a call earlier in the mornings and he''ll probably be the one to answer the phone.

I am working with Mark and am going to visit his office later today. Mark has been out of town since last Wednesday which may explain a few things.

But I must say, I have been dealing with him since early June and he is by far the nicest person to deal with in terms of patience - which is very important. I had a few other guys looking for stones and a lot them made me feel VERY uncomfortable. Always pressuring or have some other agenda.

Mark is the best and they all have access to the same stones. So just find someone who is trustworthy. Mark also works very hard for customers as he has been searching tirelessly for a stone for me for some time now. He has responded to emails at night, over the weekend, etc. So please do not worry and he will get back to you with some results!

Hi -
Just wanted to chime in here. I too am currently working with Mark and know he was out of his office at the end of last week. I know it is really hard to have patience when it comes to diamonds but I''d like to think he will return your call as soon as he gets caught up.

I''ve had a nice experience working with Mark. As soon as we get our package tomorrow (yippee) I hope to report back on the excellent job he did selecting our stone.

Good luck!

Hey, Mark did my e-ring, keep trying, its well worth it....Dan

Yes, keep trying. I''d call him also instead of just e-mailing him.

Thank you, everyone, for encouraging me to keep trying. I''ll try emailing again and see if Mark responds. :)

So sorry the msg uploaded twice. That''s so embarrassing!

Hi Rye,

Can''t wait to see your lovely new stone! :)

It''s a weird experience, relying on someone else to select something so important but Mark has such a great reputation on this site we had to give him a try. We are expecting our cushion .87 H VS1 Ex/Ex tomorrow. It''s on the smaller side but I wear a size 4 ring and really didn''t want anything too large. We are hoping it is a real sparkler!

I hope you hear back from him soon. Keep us posted.

As many have already said, Mark is an extremely nice guy. He might have other things going on at the moment, or is just extremely busy, but he''s definitely worth waiting for. He went out of his way to give me his opinion on my stone, and I didn''t even buy it from him (long story). I would wait it out a little longer and then follow up.

I just wanted to also say that my experience with Mark was flawless. He looked and looked for a stone for me and only found one. At first I was a little upset at the prospect of only having one to choose from, but as soon as I got to NYC and saw it, I knew it was my stone. He has a fabulous eye, espicially for cushions. I def plan to do more work with him in the future.

I know, it is weird to buy remotely. I think I have a rather weird request -- I''m hoping to find a light yellow stone/warmer stone with nice chunky facets, to give an antique look. I have small hands like you, so maybe that will help open up the field :)
