... but McCain''s "benefit" is gender neutral. Single ladies will get $2500 per year ... This is a sad-but-true summary of the trials of being a woman seeking insurence.

Employer based insurance isn''t allowed to discriminate on the basis of sex .. but when you''re buying your own insurance (as McCain wants you to do with the credit he''s pimping) ... women pay on average 50% more than men the same age/heath. Why? Babies. Babies cost $$$. And because women have this habit of indulging in "preventative care" -- in other words, they actually go to the doctor & don''t just drop dead of a heart attack like those "cheaper to insure" men must???

So women earn less than men, but have to pay higher insurance premiums all because of that pesky vagina. The whole society benefits from the propagation of the species but only ladies have to pay?

Ahhhh, yes . . . yet another shining example of McCain''s warm, fuzzy feelings toward women.

That''s disgusting. It looks like the uterus is in the high risk zip code

Oh, speaking of zip codes, Palin got booed in PA today because she was "glad to be in the home of the world champion Phillies", even though she was in Pittsburgh Pirate''s territory. D''oH. Wrong zip code of PA for that comment. Oh well, big state that PA....

Yeah, gotta subsidize that Viagra. Can''t get BC pills covered, but every guy is entitled to a hard-on all the time...

We buy our own health coverage and even WITHOUT maternity mine is more expensive than DH''s
20.gif
If you KNEW how much we paid for maternity you would keel over. They already take advantage of women.
15.gif
The funny thing is I hardly EVER go to the doctor (once a year) and besides pregnancy have never had a serious illness or hospital stay. DH gets infusions every 4-6 weeks that cost the insurance company $10,000 each time
23.gif
So at least ONE of us is getting our money''s worth

Hehe. So sad, but so true...it''s pretty ridiculous.

Great post, Deco.

What I want to know (in addition to this issue) is how ''come our shirts cost more to do at the dry cleaner''s than our husbands''????

UGH, I was just on the phone with my insurance company yesterday asking why they won''t cover me for my birth control prescription. They said they would cover it if I had some kind of medical condition (PMS, endo, etc) but not if I just wanted it for birth contol. Ticks me off
29.gif
They''ll pay $$$ to cover my expenses if I get pregnant but won''t fork over a few bucks so that I can prevent pregnancy. What kind of lame coverage is that?

I have always used that example to support the fact that it is still a man's world, but without women this economy of ours would dry up.

You know, if women united in America, that would be the serious.....and I mean serious....change that could change history.

I have the same problem and I have insurance through my university! Seriously, if any insurance was going to cover birth control, it should be them, they don''t even give discounts due to changes in the taxes towards pharm companies
29.gif
. They don''t cover it if it is for skin stuff or my dermatologist would have me covered.
