After doing a lot of research and a lot of lurking on the forums I finally made a purchase that arrived this past Friday. If you recall, in this thread https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/would-this-aca-h-a-si2-scare-you.82722/ , I called upon fellow PS''ers to help me with a Whiteflash stone. WF assured me that the stone was ''eye-clean'', however the inclusions were a hurdle I could not clear, even after a lot of postivie thinking. I guess the stone wasn''t ''mind-clean'' enough for me. I turned my search elsewhere. While gathering more information I stumbled upon pictures of a beautiful stone owned by dreamer_dachsie, which is a J colored beauty. DD''s pictures were awesome. The pictures and DD''s advice consequently made my search more broad. Prior to find the post from dreamer_dachsie I had not even considered a J color. So then I was on the hunt for a G-1 .75-.90 H&A Round. Feverishly I placed my search into all of the major vendors.

It didn''t take long before I struck gold (or diamond)! GoodOldGold came to my rescue with this gorgeous stone: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4194/ . The stone was perfect! It fell perfectly within my budget, the cut is excellent, clarity was something I could now live with, and from what I saw from dreamer_dachsie I thought could live with the J color. Finally! This was a diamond I could get excited about.

I pulled the trigger this past Thursday, the stone arrived Friday and it did not disappoint. I could not be happier and I know the future fiance will love it. When I told my mom about my Internet research and my plan to purchase the diamond online I could tell she was really skeptical (I think she was anticipating my disappointment if things did not work out). As soon as I cracked open the package and saw the diamond in all of its beauty, I rushed to show my mom. She did a complete 180 and now I think she is just as excited as myself.

I cannot say enough about the serviced I received from the folks at GOG. You can really tell that the staff is passionate about diamonds and customer service. Thanks Marie and Jonathan.

Hopefully I''ll have the stone in a setting by the weekend and I''ll be able to make a follow up post. Thanks again to all that help, especially dreamer_dachsie, I could not have made such an important purchase without ya''lls help.

BTW, If anyone has any photography advice for taking pictures of diamonds please let me know.

Thank you for sharing your story and experiences, as well as the photos (which are great!). It''s lovely to see more photos of such a wonderful and white J colour diamond... it makes me think more and more that I can live with a lower colour diamond in the future: so thank you!

First off thanks for everyone''s kind words. As for the setting I''m was really loving Tacori settings as they are very elegant and very clean at the same time. I did find one that I thought was perfect, however not a Tacori, looks a lot like the one pictured.

As for my ''success story'', it is the least I can do. It''s been a lot of fun lurking over the past few months seeing what everyone has purchased. It''s my opportunity to give back as this site and members have given me so much.
