Hey, I know today''s a stressful day for you and DW, so I wanted to offer a hug and all of the support I can.

*HUG*

Ditto! I''m keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for a big fat NO on Prop 8!

I hope everyone votes NO on prop 8 as well!

However, if it is overturned...does that make any previous gay marriage legally null and void?

If I recall, they''re not exactly sure *what* they''re going to do with the marriages that have been performed. I think that they''ll still be valid (which is what the rush was for many couples to tie the knot before today) but I know in Wishful''s case, they won''t ever be mailed their official marriage license if it passes.

Ugh, that makes me sad.

THEY JUST WANT TO GET MARRIED!!!!

Keeping everything crossed for you Wishful!!

Best of luck to you and your SO, Wishful! Hopefully, there''s a wedding in your very near future! Try to distract yourselves and have a relaxing day, as much as you can. ((((HUGS))))

Big hugs and big hopes that Prop 8 gets a BIG FAT NO!

Oh goodness, you are so sweet Princess, for thinking of us today! *hug*

Thanks also ladypirate, Italiahaircolor, bee*, Irishgrrrl, and Haven. This is making me laugh at a time when I feel absolutely sick to my stomach.

Princess already sort of addressed this, but I will chime in in response to Italia-
If prop 8 passes they will not perform any more same sex marriages [well, until it is eventually challenged and is most likely repealed later in the future

]. It is not clear-cut what will happen to those of us who are already married. It''s legally a little complex, but it would be difficult for them to take away the licenses that were legal when they were awarded. The attorney general of the state thinks the marriages will remain legal; I am choosing to trust him because thinking about the alternative makes me cry, and I am trying to put on my happy face tonight. It is more likely than not that no matter what happens DW and I will still be wifies, though!

Thanks to all who are voting no on prop 8: I wish I could vote in CA this election, but as a MA resident I can''t... yet! I''m hoping to have the opportunity to vote for Gavin Newsom for governor in 2010, though!

Glad you finally saw you were being paged. I was only *slightly* stalking you over on ATW.

I''m pulling for you, honey, and for all of the couples and future couples whose love needs to be recognized as equal and beautiful.

Thank you, twinnie.

I am slow tonight because of the intense multitasking I''m doing with the election- sorry to take so long to come over!

[Meanwhile, Florida voters are making quick work of my rights there... I guess Florida Keys vacations in my future are not meant to be

I am in CA and voted no!

As for them nulling marriages, that would be up for decision after election. I don''t think anyone is too sure about it.

I live in Canada and just heard about this proposition today (don''t know what rock I was under...) and all I can say is

Man alive, I simply don''t understand people''s objection to gay marriage, it just makes no sense to me

If you don''t want to vacation in Florida, c''mon up to Canada for the next vacay! You can get married here too if you like

Canada... we''d actually love to move to Vancouver someday, if we could afford it. Immigration isn''t exactly cheap, though. It would be so nice to live someplace where I knew our marriage license was worth something, though! *sigh*

I have always thought about moving to Canada as well. Seems like it is a fair bit better than here

It makes me sad in this day and age this should even be an issue, I was watching Good Morning America this morning and they were saying they had spent 73 million in trying to get the law overturned
33.gif
, we are apparently hitting a world wide financial crisis and this is how they want to spend money? If two people want to get married regardless of sexual orientation they should be allowed to, nothing wrong with a bit more love in the world

.

I will be wishing for a positive outcome GL
