Wire transfer transactions, safe?

So my Fiance and I have decided to go with the 3ct GIA I SI2 that I've posted about here. Both Chris and Michael at Gem Appraisers gave it rave reviews, so I'm going to put my trust in their judgement and go with it. The diamond is from USA Certed diamonds, so we would have to wire transfer the payment. Fiance (who is not up to speed with all the diamond websites and buying diamonds over the internet) is terrified of this process, especially since they're in Canada. I've only read good things about USA Certed here and Chris & Michael, who have worked with them for 10 years, only have good things to say as well. Yet, my Fiance is still nervous. Can anyone offer some suggestions as to how I can quell his fears and let him know that this process is safe? Has anyone had a bad experience wiring money to a PS vendor?

Hi sarah, its natural to be a bit nervous. I don''t have personal experience with your vendor, but I can say I have done 3 wires to PS vendors so far, all the way from Australia, and every time it went totally smoothly.
I had never done one before, but its really simple and safe, and quick

I can''t remember exactly how it works, but I''ve read on here before that there is protection built in with your bank.
Perhaps ask your Fi to read one or 2 threads about peoples'' great experiences to make him feel better?
