All this talk about Northern CA wineries is making me want to take a trip! Not going to happen anytime soon, so lets talk about our favorite wineries instead.
Some of my favorites include...
In Amador:
Dobra Zemjla http://dobraz.com/ for being in the most fabulous little cave like building and having some fantastic reds.
Story http://www.zin.com makes an amazing Zin (shocking based on their web address, I''m sure!).
In El Dorado:
I love Fitzpatrick http://www.fitzpatrickwinery.com because they built their own log cabin (the wine isn''t terrific) but the woodfired oven on the deck is fantastic and it would be a fun place to stay for a night.
Latcham www.latcham.com has such a nice staff, good port and amazing brownies.
Charles B. Mitchell http://www.charlesbmitchell.com/, one of my favorites for wine and watching Charles in action, he''s a bit of a spitfire.
I haven''t been to Windwalker http://www.windwalkervineyard.com/ since they changed owners but I can''t imagine their wine not being good.
In Healdsburg:
I haven''t spent a lot of time here but the few times I''ve been were great experiences. I recall really enjoying:
Alexander Valley Vineyards http://www.avvwine.com/
Rodney Strong http://www.rodneystrong.com/
Dry Creek http://www.drycreekvineyard.com/
Arista http://www.aristawinery.com/
Murphy-Goode http://www.murphygoodewinery.com/
Belvedere http://www.belvederewinery.com/
What are your favorite wineries (wherever they may be!).
