Will you be switching your data plan?

Starting today, AT&T is offering 2 new plans, and removing their unlimited $30 smart phone option.

(Note: if you have the unlimited plan you can keep it until you switch carriers, or plans.)

$15 for 200MB usage
$25 for 2GB usage

I think I''m going down to the $15 one. I am almost always connected to WiFi- I''m not even hitting 100MB of usage a month.


Anyone else switching? Info on new plans

Thanks for the heads up. I''m going to look into this. DH has the $30 plan and I should check his usage. I bet it''s low. I''d love to save a few $$.

Nope. I always use more than 200MB (though still not close to 2GB) but to me, the $5 difference between 2GB and unlimited isn''t worth losing unlimited data forever. Who knows what my usage will be in the future? I definitely don''t anticipate my usage going down, since I will probably stream music a lot more than I do now once I start driving to work every day. So I''m just leaving things as they are.

I just renewed my contract less than a month ago and am paying $30. Will check to see how much I use before doing anything.

My husband still on the $20 a month unlimited plan. When his contract expired, he never bothered to renew and they never changed the rate. So he''s not changing anything.

Honestly, I WAS going to go down UNTIL I saw the new iphone capabilities! I mean, how much will be used up by the Face Time feature??? lol

2 GB are $25, and every additional gig is $10...

I think AT&T really wants people to switch FI and I have decided to stay put for now

Can you keep us updated on that? I know the pre-order is Jan 17?? and They are for sale the 24th. I am very curious to see how it handles.


OH OH OH, and I totally forgot

I heard a netflix rumor that you might be able to stream your movies on your iphone. HOW COOL would that be?? I would definitely need the unlimited plan then

I wouldn''t last with 288 minutes though. FI and I have 550 between us, but I mostly use the mobile to mobile and we ALWAYS have extra mins left. We both have unlimited text and data. After discount we pay $145 a month.

The minutes are cheap though, you could get that amount of minutes no problem. 1000 minutes a month plus 1k mb data is like $40 lol

If you are not eligible for an upgrade it's $399 for the 16gb... which is awesome because last year I want to say it was FULL FULL price. To see if you are eligible hit *new# on your phone- if it says you are it's the cheaper price. If not, it's the discounted one. Plus, there is an $18 upgrade fee

I found out today that I am eligible for the $199 price! I have only had my 3gs for about a year.. so I am really excited. Fiance is not eligible so his will be $399, which is ok.

I am going to have him pre-order them next tuesday! woohoo!

Now that I think about it, maybe we should both get the 32gb? With the new iMovie software/ app... that might be pretty cool... and use up a lot of space.

I am keeping my unlimited data. So is DH. I totally agree with Octavia and Thing2 that who knows what my data use will be like in the future. Plus, I am kinda a data hog now with a mild Pandora addiction.

I am not eligible to upgrade until May 2011. I will try to hold out, but who knows. More thank likely, I will lose the one I have now and I will have to pay full price. At least if I am following my current trend that will happen.

Or maybe I will see if DH will trade me phones (I have the 3GS, he just has a 3G) because he is eligible for an update now. . .
