will yellow gold prongs look good?

I am trying to find a simple yellow gold solitaire basket mount for a half carat diamond I inherited. I looked through several of my jeweler''s catalogues, but was only able to find one basket mounting that I liked. I really do not want any kind of peg head. This mounting has four yellow gold prongs securing the diamond. Will 14k yellow gold make the prongs secure enough? Also, will these yellow gold prongs make the diamond seem smaller or be too distracting? If anyone has yellow gold prongs, I would love to see a picture of your ring and know how well you like them. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I have an 18kt yellow gold ring, with yg prongs... and personally I love it!

I knew I didn''t want white metal prongs, as I love the look of the ring all in one colour metal.

I really enjoy seeing the contrast of the lovely warm, buttery yellow of the gold prongs, and the icy whiteness of my diamond.
