I boycott Walgreens.
(For this poll how you voted is private.)

Snip from the NYT ...

" The pharmacy chain, which had sought certification so its stores could fill prescriptions for the abortion medication mifepristone, announced last week that it will not dispense the pill in the 21 states where Republican attorneys general have threatened legal action."

No, but I can't remember when I entered a Walgreens anyway. My husband and I get our Medicare Part D prescriptions at CVS, and our daughter also gets hers at CVS.

Walgreens' prices are too high in general.

It certainly changed how we feel about Walgreen's. Very disappointing, Another sad example of how "staying out of it" isn't really staying out of it at all.

Unfortunately Walgreens is not the exception.
All so disappointing.
I would like to boycott all those who are anti choice.
Who's with me?

PS I use a local pharmacy and Costco for most of my meds and rarely go to Walgreens for anything and now for nothing

No. I use my local all the time. Our community relies on them. If I were to get sued for doing something or potentially break the law I wouldn’t do it either.

Weeeeeeeeeell, shoot.

I am highly pro choice, but my insurance, over which I have no options, is through Walgreens.

I understand their thinking, tho. What I *will* NEVER do is vote Republican.

Yes, I will ban Walgreens. I rarely use Walgreens.

A Texas federal judge who has ties to the Anti-Abortion industry is about to make a ruling on the future of Mifepristone. Mifepristone has been safely used for two decades. I find this extremely interesting considering the abortion pills are safer than penicillin and Viagra. Can you imagine the uproar if there was a ban on Viagra?

The Wyoming Governor signed a bill into law yesterday banning the abortion pill.

@kenny, If you haven’t heard, you may be one happy person on Tuesday.

I don't shop at Walgreens, even though there is one nearby.
I do boycott Walmart, Chick-fil-A, and Hobby Lobby.
I can add Walgreens to the list.

Crap. My local pharmacy became a Walgreens. Now I'll have to switch to the CVS.

I won't do Chick-fil-a or Hobby Lobby, or any of those stores that affiliate with the ignorant and religious. They used to call themselves the Moral Majority when the reality was they were neither.

I moved my prescriptions to Walgreens when Cigna medicare dropped Kroger this year. Now I'll move them to Safeway.

I very rarely shop at Walgreens because CVS is much more convenient for me

But I'll be keeping this in mind now. Thanks for sharing, Kenny

Entering the thread to point out that having a prescription of Ella at home, especially if you have teens, is a good idea. (It’s the prescription version of Plan B, and it’s stronger and more effective. Plan B has a weight limit of 155 or 165 lbs, depending on which resources you trust). You need to have a prescription for Ella, and if pharmacies like Walgreens are balking at abortion pills you can bet they might balk at Ella if and when you needed it. Best to already have it.

There is no Walgreens in my city now. I fill my prescriptions at Kroger. If I had been using Walgreens I would boycott now for sure.

Can you not just buy more than one dose of levonorgestrel to keep on hand? Amazon has 3 packs (or it did in the past) of My Way, the off-brand of Plan B. Far less expensive and easy to obtain. It’s been several years since I’ve purchased or taken it so I’m not up on current status of all of this regarding plan b.

I don’t know as I’m not a physician, but I do believe they are different drugs. My gyn was more than happy to provide a prescription for Ella when I asked, and I have also gotten one from Nurx (google and it should pop up).

I did Google, and you’re correct, they are different drugs. 98% vs 87% effective. Bummer that Ella isn’t OTC.

I actually love the two Walgreen's close to where I live, and my mom gets her new prescriptions there (her usual meds come quarterly through the mail via CVS CareMark) ... but my mom and I spoke about this situation, and we agreed neither of us will go to Walgreens or buy from Walgreen's anymore.
