will a half bezel set stone have a little play?

Will a stone that is set in a half bezel be able to turn slighlty in the bezel? I barely touched it and noticed it rotates just the slightest bit. Normal?

No, not normal, get a jeweler to check it out.

do get it check asap and fix, the diamond can eat way at the bezel as its turning here and there

No! The bezel should conform to the diamond tightly enough that you can''t move anything at all. Definitely get that fixed...

Thanks all! I took it back to the retailer and sure enough - it was loose. It''s fixed now, but how do they tighten a bezel - squeeze the bezel together? Can that damage the stone in any way?
