Poor Lesley. She is a saint and I''m putting her through the paces. If I''m going to do the swap-a-roo on my H SI2 .806 ACA, I''ve decided that because I''m so color sensitive, I want to go with a G in color (I won''t be able to get an ACA with my budget of roughly $3900 or so--hence another reason I don''t want to stay with an H or go any lower), SI2 is fine as long as it''s eye clean, and I want that magic 1 carat weight. I''ve found a few on ERD''s site and sent them to Lesley--not sure if she can get these or not. Lesley wants a table less than 57% or so and obviously I want a good spread so that I''d be able to see a difference from what I have now (my ACA is 6.00 x 6.03 mm). ERD has some nice ones that fit the bill but what about other sites?

I decided that I had to put some limits on what I''m looking for because I''ve been all over the map--looking at Js, Is, Hs, Gs, and one F. If this thing doesn''t exist, I need to quit wasting my time and Lesley''s too! And my ACA will come back home to me just as it was before! (But geez I''d love to swap her for her bigger "sister"...) :-)

Are you bothered by the H on your current stone? If not, I''d stick to the H/SI range to get the magic size you are looking for.

Weren''t you looking at an F colored WF diamond with a big spread? Was that one not eye clean? If WF doesn''t have a diamond available that fits your specifications and budget at this time, I would keep the ACA you have.

Yeah, since I was dropping from ACA to non-ACA, I feel like I need to go at least G in color. I can see a slight hint of color in the H and it''s totally fine. But with diamonds in my wedding band that are f/g, I think I need to go at least G in color in a non ACA stone.

And I was looking at an F and thought it was very promising but the table was 58% and Lesley thought that was out of range.

I really doubt that you would be able to tell the difference in color between an H ACA and a well cut H ES stone. Some of the ES stones are so well cut that I doubt you could tell a difference in person between those and the ACA''s. However, some of the ES stones have symmetry issues and other issues.
