Hello everyone I just wanted to give a shout out to Edward Bristol at wild fish gems! I have purchased a couple stones and a ring from Edward and I have to say that the stones were exactly how they were described online and everything was done very classy and efficiently. If you want a gemstone with guaranteed no treatments this is the place to go! I also feel really good buying from him because of his ethical mining practices and how he buys a chunk of rainforest under your name to be preserved. It is truly a feel good experience buying from Ed. Great guy to work with and HIGHLY recommend!!! Also thanks to all on here who recommended him. I would have never found the site if it wasn't for you guys. Anyways hope this helps someone!

I'm glad you had a pleasant experience. However, this strikes me as a shill job. I could be wrong, I hope I am.

Glad you had a good experience. We love to look at pictures, and it would be great (!) if you would share some, or tons, of them with us.

It's great that you had a nice experience. I only bought a stone from him once but had to return it as it did not look like the pic AT ALL. He is a very friendly guy though.

Please share some pics of your stones.

What is a shill job? And thanks yes I am very pleased. I will try and take some pics! Any tips for taking pics with an iPhone?

Shilling means working together with a vendor to improve the reputation of the vendor. For example family or co-workers of a vendor who post positive feedback without being a true customer.

Looking forward to see your pics and the pics of the vendor :wavey:

As for taking photos, the simplest is placing the gem between two fingers under a tree or by a window and snapping a few pictures of the stone from the top -- usually good enough for capturing colour decently.

Please post the vendor's photos as well. I don't know how to read WF's photos since there is often a difference between their glamour shots and hand shots.

Austinj: can you explain why your post was deleted from the thread entitled "Vendor Pictures and Owner Pictures of PS stones"? It is not often that a new member comes along with such a glowing review of a vendor as their first post while simultaneously having another deleted. Typically, those that are seemingly deleted by Mods have breached protocol or policy somehow, which would make us suspicious of a shill. Your pics would be great along with the vendor pictures as comparison. :))

Oh ok well thanks for the explanation. No I assure you I am a customer! Sorry if I seem over enthusiastic I just really believe in what he's doing. This all started while looking for an E ring stone! I did lots of research and decided I was ok with heat for a sapphire and ended up getting Jeshua Rosestone to do my ring and with a heated sapphire from gemfix. I don't get my ring until hopefully May sometime but I can post pics of the ring beside the stone im getting! Anyways I found I got interested in gemstones and started reading a lot more. And now I wish I would have gone with an untreated sapphire but oh well! Anyways I think I got a decent picture of my topaz from Ed. I will see if I can post my future e ring as well!

I didn't even know they deleted my post. Not sure why? He's got a whole section on gemstone photography and buying gems online. I thought it would be helpful as that was what the thread was about. Frankly I would have been surprised if I was the first to mention it!

Oh and sorry I forgot to write that the stone I'm getting is the bigger blue one!! So excited!

It wasn't on topic, as it was not a vendor and consumer photo comparison, it was a random post.

Thank you for clarifying Ella. OP: sorry I questioned your sincerity. Good for you for finding stones that you absolutely love! Oh, and don't feel bad about your sapphire having heat treatment; it just means you can try again some time to get an unheated one to help grow your collection. Look at some of the other vendors as well - like Barry Bridgestock, Brad at The Gem Trader and Michael at Litnon. They seem to have unheated sapphires on a regular basis that are not that expensive.

Oh that's alright! Sorry I guess I should read the rules before I started posting. Anyways thanks I will check them out!
