If she had wanted him dead he probably would have at the very least wished he was.
Big cats are very territorial and since he was walking backwards it was not that far distance wise.I was surprised that she felt she had to drive him that far away from her babies.
yikes I bet.Also had similar encounters with black bears and a grizzly. A fake charge by a 600 lb grizzly is something to remember. Had nightmares for a while after that.

It could also be one or more of the cubs followed instead of hiding in place like she told them to do.
They way she kept looking behind her I speculate that may be the case.
