Hooooly Crapooooly!

Amazing that the jogger kept recording the cat's pursuit.

He happened upon her 4 cubs and mama went into pursuit FOR ALMOST 6 MINUTES!!!!

Good mommy
If a house cat thinks her kittens are in danger she will also have a go

Best wishes to the kitty family

As an aside what beautiful autumn colours

The headline I saw was something like “man after a wild cougar encounter: ‘it was the longest 6 minutes of my life”

That double entendre, though!:lol::lol::lol:

At the beginning why do we keep hearing, "BEEP you, BEEP you, BEEP you, BEEP you, BEEP you, BEEP you, BEEP you"?

"I'm big & scary dude!"

He was trying to scare it off, but obviously he wasn't very threatening LOL. She is a good mamma though. Poor thing was so skinny, I felt bad for her.

Apparently he approached her kittens first. I can understand the impulse, but it's a cruel and stupid thing to do,

Never threaten a mommy's kids no matter the species.
I agree, she was chasing him off.
If she had wanted him dead he probably would have at the very least wished he was.
More people are killed by bears and other wildlife that way.

For sure. Those fake charges she did is the same thing bears do to warn people off. I had a similar experience with a cougar several years. She jumped out of some tall grass and fake charged. I didn't see her cub at first because it was camouflaged in the grass. Also had similar encounters with black bears and a grizzly. A fake charge by a 600 lb grizzly is something to remember. Had nightmares for a while after that.

I was surprised that she felt she had to drive him that far away from her babies.

Big cats are very territorial and since he was walking backwards it was not that far distance wise.
It could also be one or more of the cubs followed instead of hiding in place like she told them to do.
They way she kept looking behind her I speculate that may be the case.

Bless her, good big kitty mama!

DK :))

yikes I bet.
The worst I have been charged by is a deer, came up to them unexpectedly and was between her and her fawn.
I moved behind a tree in time.
Someone I had met a few times, spent a few days in the hospital having the same thing happen and getting hit in the head by a deer hoof.

I’ll bet that cub got a good scolding for not following directions when Mama returned!

HI:

HOLY MOLY! I have goosebumps!!

cheers--Sharon

He did all the right things. Smart kid.

It's my fear that walking my dog in the woods I may stumble upon some black bear cubs.

Yikes! I'm glad it all ended well!
