Anyone have any idea why this 1.2 carat round diamond is priced so low? It''s classified as an "ideal cut" and even if it is IGI certified, it looks okay in the image. I see a "feather" in the diamond... but does that justify the price difference amongst this diamond and its GIA counterparts?

IGI are often lower priced than GIA and AGS which are the top 2 labs, read more here. You would need to ask James Allen to run a Sarin scan on the diamond to give detailed measurements and the crown and pavilion angles particularly but from the loupe image it doesn't look like the best cut stone, I can see what appears to be leakage present where light is escaping from the diamond a, Idealscope image which JA can supply on request would be useful.

My two cents is because of the big inclusion on the center of the table and also if you look closely the "arrows" on the diamond are not aligned properly. An ideal cut diamond is cut to certain proportions and may not necessarily have the best polish and symmetry. My other guess is that maybe is was a trade of some sort that they''re trying to sell? Also, if I am correct on my assumption, it looks like there might be a lot of light leakage since the stone appears so dark and grimy.....just some thought to throw out there!
