I think there are those who start topics only when they have something very specific to ask or say, and those who start them just because. Neither is wrong, just different. I won''t name names though

My issue is that I can''t subscribe to a topic-the system just doesn''t work for me and Ali and Andry can''t figure why. It''s a pain, therefore, to actually follow a thread. I have to check the site several times to follow what''s happening.

I think it can be very intimidating for newer people to post period, much les to START a new topic. At times it appears that people mostly reply to the "popular people" and don''t waste their time replying to someone new unless it''s a provotive topic or they come here posting about their 4 carat bling. I think it can also be intimidating to people to post in the same area as vendors. I have recently started posting more, but I have been lurking on this board for YEARS before even registering for some of those same reasons. Sometimes the rules are a bit hard to follow as well so people may avoid posting becasue they got a "Violation" early on and it made them retreat.

Hasn''t Kenny been a member here for a long time? I had thought he was new, then looked and he joined in 2005 or something like that?

I backed off of posting when I got an email from admin about not mentioning CZ, even though the actual ring being discussed in my question was a diamond. After that, I retreated back to lurking and commenting on other topics. I guess the rules are a little strict here compared to what I''m used to

I also have this problem, I can login 4 times in a row and it will not let me reply to a topic. (Almost happens every time in the LIW forum)

SO FRUSTRATING!

I looked up almighty . . . all-powerful, omnipotent, supreme, preeminent. antonym powerless.
Very great, huge, enormous, immense, colossal, massive, prodigious, stupendous, tremendous, monumental, mammoth, vast, gigantic, giant, mighty, Herculean, epic; very loud, deafening, ear-splitting, ear-piercing, booming, thundering, thunderous; informal whopping, thumping, astronomical, mega, monster, humongous, jumbo, ginormous. antonym insignificant.

Wow, I'm flattered.
Now, everyone mail me your diamonds.

DF is king , Kenny is King in waiting??? KIW???
31.gif

JUst think about a KIW thread???? LOL!!

Hey I am just thankful for DF and for Kenny. I think you guys add so much to PS, and seriously can''t imagine PS without you!!!!

SO THERE!!! I gave you both kudos!!!
36.gif

DF and I have had a long history of kidding each other, and so I always love giving it back to him.
3.gif

Kenny,

I get you, there is a lot we have in common. So it''s been nice getting to know you more as time has passed.
2.gif
We haven''t always agreed, and isn''t that what makes PS so interesting?? It would be so dull if we all had the same frame of mind. But truth be told, you calls them as you see them. I am the same way, so agree more with you than you know.

Not that it matters what the heck I think, LOL!!! Just saying.....

Kal, I'm way cuter than DF and my piano is much much bigger.

Yes, there''s truth in what you say.

There are ''popular people'' and intercine conflicts that go back since time immemorial, as at any website. It might be hard for the ''popular people'' to hear, but we who are new don''t care about these conflicts, and although we might not always tell you, when you act like there is a ''pecking order,'' we think you are obnoxious and offensive.

There, OP, aren''t you so glad you asked.

I am a frequent poster and thread starter, but definitely not competing in any popularity contest!

On the contrary I can be pretty harsh, quirky and direct.
I have no patience for nonsense, yet I do work to obey PS rules about remaining civil and constructive.

I calls em like I sees em and I'm pretty sure that many of my posts get no response because many here have written me off as being off in left field.
I bring up edgy subjects because I find those conversations interesting.
I often do not go along with the crowd.
I'm probably a hopeless narcissist.
Notice how many sentences here start with, I.

I recommend just being yourself.
Post away without worrying too much about being liked or developing a following.
Diversity and people just letting their hair down to be themselves makes this a more interesting place than a forum with a bunch of people trying to be similar to fit in and be liked.

do you use firefox or explorer? I use firefox but I think this site is primed for explorer and not all functions work on firefox.

OK, Kenny, this is a threadjack, but point me to a thread about your doggies. If you have been posting about them, I must not have been focussing.

Hmm. I don''t start a ton of threads or topics mainly because I''d rather read and respond instead to what''s already been posted. I either end up learning something, or help someone else by offering my perspective or answer. Otherwise, I don''t post threads/topics about personal problems or issues or vents for the most part. I have lots of friends and family I would rather discuss things like that with than post it on a public forum. And even though this is PS and the admins do their utmost to provide a secure environment for us to post, it is not as private as some would think. I have no problem with others posting when they truly need help working something out in their lives, I''m not saying that''s wrong. I''m just saying I choose not to do it, preferring to interact here in different ways.

I post threads here in hangout really infrequently, and usually it''s only when I think I actually have something interesting to say.
