I saw this stone on WF today, which I'd missed in earlier searches because I'd previously only checked the box for ideal cut. This one looks like it oughta be close...it scores a 1.7 on the HCA. What makes it less than ideal?

That is a really good question!!!

I don't see any red flags...the numbers look really good, the crown and pav are nice, the IdealScope is excellent. EX EX, decent girdle, good diameter. The Sarin shows the parameters are all AGS0 as well.

This may be a question for WF...I would give them a call and talk to Brian and ask him straight out what is going on! It could just be mis-classified in the DB and hence coming up as a Round and not a Round Ideal. Could be your lucky day...I wonder how many others have passed this one up and not even realized it was there.

Good luck!!

If you're in the US, give Whiteflash a call toll free. I'm sure they would let you know why it doesn't show up on their round ideal cut list, and they could take it out and look at it for you. It is one of their expert selections so they should have it in house, and from the stats, looks gorgeous!

The diamond you are considering is an ideal cut. For some reason it is not coming up in the "ideal cut" database sort, and we have asked our webmasters to see why. It is a gorgeous diamond!

Uh oh -- I hope I didn't just cause the price of the diamond I'm considering to jump!

Good to hear, and thanks for the follow-up, Leslie.
