Why I shouldn't look at gem auctions after a glass of wine.

I purchased the emerald in the AIG report at an auction house in Australia (online auction)

It was under reserve but referred to the seller who agreed to sell it.

Just wondering if that cheeky glass of pinot cost me more than I thought

Any thoughts on what would be fair value?

Lab report photos are tough to judge by. Do you have other pictures?

I can see its included I just liked the colour (through my vino tinted glasses)

The damage is only about $70USD though

Even converted to lowly nz money it could have been sooooo much worse
An exspensive bottle of wine but by far the most exspensive
It has beautuful colour
I hope its enjoyable when it arrives

At least you stopped at one
Have you ever come home from a vineyard tour and you should have stoped buying after the 3rd stop !

@Daisys and Diamonds lol thank you I don't know that the AUD is much better than the NZD.

I completely hear you on the vineyard tours get tipsy come home with a case of wine I could have gotten for less at the local bottle shop.

I will wait til it comes and decide if I want to set it cheaply in silver or something else.

Silver sounds a good fall back
Even a cheap little of wine can be fun and enjoyable in the right company

I have my fingers crossed for you

Lol I've been on these auctions too. I think the minor oil treatment is like a clarity enhancement but still not a bad price. I think setting it is going to cost way more. I've bought a few stones from them and waiting for them to arrive. The ones I bidded on didn't have aig certification except 1.

That close up of my hand bothers me more than the inclusions in the emerald

Good find I'd say for that price for the colour, size and clarity.

I reckon for rose tinted shiraz spectacles you did good! It's a pretty colour and the jardin don't overtake the gem. Enjoy.

Hi folks...PriceScope newbie here lol so please excuse any obvious noobie stuff on my behalf.

Just thought I could thru in a link that may or may not be of value to the convo, but might help some people out. Just something I find handy from time to time when looking things up price wise?.
