Why is it that in my online search (ERD, Blue Nile and White Flash) I cannot find premium radiant cut stones. Thay have premium princess and round...but no radiant. What''s up with that? This search for a diamond has become overwhelming! Thanks in advance for your responses...you guys have been helpful thus far.

jamesallen.com has in-house radiant cut stones with pictures!! Check them out!! Also, if you call up WF and the others you mentioned they can help you find a nice radiant.

There has been little market interest in the development of high performance radiant cuts. This shape is a great one for creation of better looking colored diamonds because the way the curent design is creates zones of intensified color visibility and darkness. Bother of these "tricks" of cutting contribute to the wide availability of fancy colored diamonds. The radiant shape needs some research done by guys like the Helium - Octonus team in Moscow to create more ideal performance for light. As it stands now, radiants are good for folks who want lots of weight and don''t care some much about visual size. The cut tends to be deep and therefor heavy compared to width. This isn''t all bad, but it limits the market for radiants to people who just want that shape, that look and the things which go with them.

I''d predict there will be some excellent variations of radiant shape in a couple years which may offer more choice in the upper quality and appearance range. Until then, you mus depend on those dealers who will give you their personal attention....... Not such a bad way to go, either.

Fancy shapes (all the shapes except round) are prone to fashion trends. There were times when ovals were popular.Other times when cushions or radiants were the hit.Asschers come and go.You can find all of these, but it will take more searching.
