Why does this JA True Hearts look so funny?

Why does this diamond look so odd from the top? The Ideascope images look clean and the proportions result in a HCA of .6.

In short, it is just poor photography. The camera is too close to the diamond, and you are seeing more of the camera. Think of a mirror. As you approach it, you will see more of yourself.

You will know when you get your stone and play with it. Taking a good photo of a diamond is PITA, and requires some calculation and setup.
