I have been looking at rings for a very long time but it's not until recently I got into the fine details like symmetry, polish and all details giving a diamond a good HCA rating. I am picking a diamond to be set in an engagement ring this coming month so now it is stress time :).

I found a diamond with a rating of HCA 1.6 which according to many here is good as it's less than a rating of 2. I worry though because the depth is 64.2%, and that's bad from what I read. Can someone help shed some light please?

Rating:
Carat: 0.90
Clr: F
Clarity: SI1
Depth: 64.2%
Table: 55%
Lab: GIA
Cut: VG
Sym: VG
Pol: ID
Flr: S
HnA: N
HCA: 1.6-EX ex-ex-ex-gd
Size: 6.03 - 6.05 x 3.88 mm
Shape: Round, Brilliant

The price makes me suspect something but the HCA rating is good. What do you guys think, what am I missing here?

Thank you!!!!!diamond_64.jpg

Lower price perhaps because of the Strong Blue Fluorescence?

The extra depth means you are paying for carat weight you don't see (faces up smaller than it should), plus you need to make sure that the strong fluoro has no negative effects. Given the iffy numbers, this is a stone that I would want confirmation of the cut quality in the form of an idealscope picture. It could be a very nice mid-transitional type cut.
