i have a princess cut stud... it's 4 pieces of .5 diamonds and made into 1 big square... i compared it to my ring and my mom's (cluster diamond and mine in band and pave form) since all are round and noticed that in normal room light, mine and my mom's rounds are more glass like white with sudden spark of blues and red/orange and on a bright shiny day it would spark flashes of white that can be blinding... however, i noticed that my stud is more dull-like glass (i clean them) but in the jewelry store they are bright,,, then i noticed that under flourescent light it is glass-transparent like with very very minor scintilation of colors with more white flashes... in broad daylight, it doesn't sparkle rainbowish colors like the ones we have with rings or others... this is the only princess cut i have so i cannot compare it with another... what i noticed is that, it's when the sun directly hits it, it has this sudden flash of white that can be blinding than the rings we have... i have gone through sites and see those scintilation, fire etc... mine is more on the white flashes side and less of the fire... i even tried looking it under the tree... even at that i see sparkle of color but it's not as distractingly beautiful as a round... is that normal because the princess cut has a bigger table? i was thinking that because it's square it has to be mounted in a way that the sides are too "squarish" that hardly light from the sides and under are coming in... am i right on this?
