We have to let the conditioner absorb for a couple minutes

Cause there''s alot to do in there. . . wash hair, condition, wash self, shave legs. . . it all takes time and effort. Just think - we have to do this routine every day!

I envy my husband - in, out, shave and comb his hair. No mousse, no hairdryer, no curling iron, no makeup - NO FAIR!!

We have a lot to do. Plus we are thorough.

Let me explain my routine so that I can clarify

Wet hair
Lather hair
Rinse hair
Condition hair
shave (this takes some time)
Rinse hair
Wash body
Wash face
Rinse body and face
=
at least 30 minutes

Exfoliation, shampooing/rinsing/conditioning/rinsing, shaving, general scrubbing of all nooks and crannies=10 minutes flat. Then there is the post-shower moisturization, detangling, brushing of teeth, hair-drying, flat-ironing, makeup...another 25 minutes...add getting dressed (and on an ideal day you already have your outfit chosen)...another 5-10 minutes depending on how complex the outfit is. I''m usually ready in less than an hour. I don''t think that''s long at all!

My DH takes 1/2 hr in the shower. Me 10 minutes.

Yep, that about covers it! My post-shower time is a bit shorter than yours because I don''t blow dry or flat-iron my hair-I just fix it while it''s wet and walk out the door. (It''s super fine so it dries crazy fast.) However, my outfit picking out time is probably longer! Sometimes I just can''t leave the house unless I like my outfit!

MGR, but he would look strange with makeup and curly hair, no? LOL

DF--I think sometimes women also take way longer in the shower because IT''S THE ONLY TIME OF DAY TO GET AWAY FROM CERTAIN PEOPLE THEY LIVE WITH!

Glad I''m not the only one who''s the shorter showerer!

...because DH is in there with me. You should try it Dancing Fire (well not with me, but you know I mean) - maybe you won''t complain about the 30-minutes.

Haha! You''re right, it doesn''t seem fair, but I look at it this way: at least I don''t have to spend five days a week with a noose around my neck (ties)!

Well actually, my DH takes longer in the shower than me! He is in there like 30 min and I''m in and out in 10. Plus! He leaves it on for a good 20 min before he gets in! Haha but I sure do love him!

But it does suck cuz he does take longer in the shower but when he''s done, he''s done getting ready. Just throw on some clothes and he''s outta here. But yes, I only take 10, but after I gotta put toner, lotion and cream on my face, then lotion on my body and then air dry my hair for a little bit and then blow dry, and then style and then makeup and then clothes and then out the door I go! Haha so the fastest I can be ready is 1 and a half hours! And by this time my husband is either watching tv or on the computer :)

I''m not very fussy and I (gasp) generally don''t shave my legs unless I need to for some reason, so I can usually get my shower done in under 10 minutes...but sometimes the warm water just feels so nice that I dally a little longer. The only reason I take longer than DH is that my hair is halfway down my back and he barely has any. Also, his takes 10 seconds to blow-dry and mine takes a good 10 minutes. Unfortunately, my getting-ready routine will probably get significantly longer once I''m not a student anymore and actually have to look good for work.

Maybe they are waiting for you to join them!

It always seems like I have a lot to do in the shower. My routine:

Run shower until steamy hot
Get in
Wet hair
Shampoo hair
Rinse hair
Condition hair
Shave
Rinse hair
Deep-condition hair
Wash body
Rinse body
Wash face with Clarisonic machine
Rinse face
Rinse hair again

It''s exhausting.

I like how hot water feels. I could hang out in there for a long time. It feels good!

My husband takes longer in the shower than I do! He takes really hot ones too, I think he uses it as a sauna!

Rinse hair, which is long, and rinse again for good measure..

I LOVE taking steamy hot showers. I''m usually big on conserving energy and water, but sometimes I just need to stand under that hot water for a long time.

I should have just dittoed your last post, OU!

I really do think that the ability to stand in a steamy hot shower is one of the best luxuries (and privileges) in life. Hmmm . . . now I want to go take another shower.

Haha JD and I tried that after we got married. He kept screeching I was trying to scald him and when he took control of the water my teeth chattered.

I don''t take long showers unless I don''t feel good-when I was sick a couple weeks ago I stayed in there pretty much until all the hot water was gone. I like it HOT, and I keep the heater on the whole time. Ahhhhh. I''m pretty fast otherwise-I only shave if I have extra curricular activities planned or if we''re going out for the day.

Hahah I''ve thought about it 3 times since posting. Maybe just a bath and glass of wine is in order!
