I hope I don't ruffle any feathers with this post. There is also a possibility that it may be deleted. I'm hoping to hear from some (one) of the moderators of this forum regarding this topic.

I noticed a while back that someone mentioned buying a setting with a CZ, leaving it in, then eventually upgrading. This conversation was allowed. The discussion regarding the CZ seemed to be no big deal. Yet, I notice if someone were to mention doing the same thing with another stone (like moissanite) the thread would be deleted. Why is that? Someone posted a picture of a "diamond" and asked if it looked real. I replied that it looked like a Moissanite, and the thread was gone. I also once said that I can't believe that anyone could confuse a moissanite with a diamond, and poof the thread was gone. Neither of the posts were intended to promote Moissanites in any way shape or form. Just an opinion. So, why are these threads deleted. I understand this is a diamond forum. However, these threads seem appropriate to me. There are some who cannot tell the difference and may come to PS for education. Why is it that they cannot receive that education here?

Why don't you just email you concern to the moderators instead? What is the point of airing it here?

I didn''t know I could do that.

There is a msg admin button on the upper right, just below the help button. Or you can just press the report concern button on this thread.

Best to review the forum policies, lots of info there on this matter. Any questions? Use the MSG Admin button and ask the moderators. HTH. Good luck.

Please make sure you read the policies. The forum policies are located near the bottom of every forum page. http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/faq.asp?mode=policy

From the policies:

Moderator Action:
  1. Use the button for any questions related to thread/post removal, policies clarification, etc.
  2. Please do not post assumptions about moderator actions, this creates confusion, use "Report Post" button so that the moderator may clarify it appropriately. We are more than happy to do so.
  3. Some actions are subject to judgment calls for the integrity of the forum and should be respected as that.
  4. Out of respect for members/moderators and to avoid confusion any public discussions of moderator actions or policies will be removed.
  5. We reserve the rights to change policies at any time, therefore, please do not discuss policies publicly as they may change.

As an FYI, the thread that you are referring to was removed for other reasons that will not be discussed here. Issues such as this are the reasons these policies are in place.
