I have Christmas induced insomnia...once I start brainstorming I cannot stop...so I am watching Whose Wedding Is It Anyway? on the style network, and the bride just gave her groom a wedding band made from her mothers gold teeth.

I threw up in my mouth over that one.

Nasty.

No thank you.

sorry, it was her gold filings, I do believe.

And yes, her mother is still very much alive...

So bazarr...has anyone ever heard of such a thing??? (hopefully no one was offended)

Wow. I''m glad I missed that.

Don''t take this the wrong way... but I am sorry I read about by clicking on this thread, even.

I just saw that. It was because the MOH spaced and forgot the ring in the hotel room so they had to get a ring from somewhere. Still REALLY gross IMHO. Who makes a ring out of that?!

I dont blame you, Gypsy

Ick! Makes me want to go wash my hands!!!!

EWWW, though I read about a bride who made the wedding rings from an amputated limb (I think it was her leg).

Deelight... OMG that is just beyond gross....

I saw that too!! It was on one of those silly current affair shows. There is no way I would be getting cheated out of some proper bling on my wedding day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I read Italia's post, it was bad, when I read this post -- I threw up in my mouth a little.

ETA I have very image-oriented mind, and I'm trying to figure out how they got those gold fillings out of her teeth... perhaps I should stop here.

I swear I read it in Cosmo or Cleo hrmmm either way it was weird and I agree give me some real bling.

Erica for the 5% of you that is intrigued if I recall correctly (this was a while ago like years ago) she either had an accident or a disease that meant her leg had to be amputated and she wanted something that meant something to the both of them for the rings so she got them carve from the bone. I guess she wanted to giver herself to her husband literally

.

I can''t recall if she made wedding jewelery from it as well, like I said it was years ago I read this.

omigosh you guys saw that too....

yea that totally weirded me out, at first i thought i didnt hear it right and i had to rewind it (thank god for tivo) because it was so weird...

me too!

so next time someone gives me grief about using my gma''s stone, well, at least its not her fillings!

Disgusting. And the amputated leg ring? That''s truly disturbing.

soooooooooooooooo why didn''t she go back to the hotel room? wouldn''t it have taken just as much time? Lame excuse if you ask me

The amputated leg/bone thing is really gross, IMO. I can totally appreciate the fact it might work for some people...but I file it under the same catagory as eating placenta or other things I''d never ever manage to do...good for you, but spare me---please!!!

I think they did borrow it from one of the guests (the bride''s aunt, IIRC) and found out afterward that it was made from fillings. While I do think it''s a little strange to make a ring out of fillings, in the end it''s just metal, and I''m sure it was sanitized in the melting-down process...
