Shane Co. or Jared? i''m in the kansas city area. Any other suggestions are welcome. I''m primarily looking for a setting.

Visit both to take a look at the selection it really depends what type of setting you have in mind.

Jared, I felt is a bit more "upscale" akin to the Lexus dealership with a coffee bar, widescreen TV lounge, and kid play area if you decide to spend an entire afternoon there and bring the family ...

Jared features some signature designer items like:
Peerless Diamonds which is akin to AGS triple 0, and GIA triple ex. People here always use them as a reference for the PS Vendor''s H&A from WF, BGD, Infinity, and GoG. Checking prices I found Peerless about 20% more than the online vendors.

As settings go they also feature a "Hearts Desire" series where all the diamonds in the setting are "ideal" cut, they also offer "Leo Diamond settings" which feature a "Leo" cut however must people would strongly recommend the "ideal" cut over a "Leo" cut.

I''ve been looking around a bunch of B&Ms and the feel I get is if you''re looking for a "standard" type setting they are all more or less the same but if you''re looking for something more unique you will need to go designer or go with a custom local jeweler.

Even with all that, still leaning to purchasing online but it''s definitely a great exercise to do!
