Define smarter any way you wish since the poll is not-scientific, purely your opinion, and just for fun.

Don't think too much.
Just go with your gut.

I truly think my SO is smarter - I'm not saying that to demean myself, I just honestly think he's a really bright guy. But I have my moments too! :cheeky:

Well, he's street smart, I'm book smart, and it's a tie.

I think it depends on the subject. My hubby knows computer programming and of course I don't. I know somethings that he doesn't.

I think it's a tie - I've got the humanities covered, and he's got the sciences. We keep one another on our toes. :)

I will say, though ... even though I'm a high achieving, Type-A personality type, his work ethic is insane. For a certain value of "intelligence," that counts for tonnes, and gives him an additional knowledge base to which I've gotta give props.

Hands down him... He is an architect and I'm in sales for a consumer products company. I'm still a smartie he is just scary smart...

While we are both intelligent, I'd have to say that DH is smarter.

He is, no doubt. Everyone who meets him thinks he is frighteningly intelligent. He's in the academic environment so I guess he found the right place for it. :twirl:

Hands down, D is smarter. He's the perfect-score-on-the-SAT, graduated-from-college-at-18 kind of smart. BUT! He still can't seem to get his dirty clothes into the hamper or remember to take out the trash.

My husband is brilliant. I am not. Yet, I can manage to find the car in the parking lot :twirl:

I am smarter, but he is more driven and dedicated.

We're different kinds of smart, so overall I think we're tied. I'm probably a little more "academically" intelligent and he's definitely more "socially" intelligent. Not sure if that's the right word. He's very easy to talk to, very charismatic-the type of person that everyone who meets him absolutely loves him. He could probably be a cult leader if he were more evil. :cheeky:

YES! This is us (minus the humanities/sciences split). I am in total awe of his work ethic.

My gut says that he is slightly cleverer than me but then I am better read. I quite like this question, having had a think about it I realise that we are actually very well matched. He is great at maths, geography, history - whereas I can't count for toffee. He can barely manage a matchstick man and I am good at painting, crafts, sciences (NOT physics!!) and languages. We both read a lot but neither would touch each others books with a barge pole.

Between us we will have homework supervision covered!

Me. But he was brilliant enough to marry me, so we'll call it a wash.

Ditto for us. DH is more handy than I am and knows how to fix things better than I do, so I think he wins

DH is smarter than I. However, I am much more likable. It's true. Ask anyone that knows us.

I wish he knew the difference between there, their and they're, though. For a smart guy, his grammar and spelling are atrocious.

Ack. Yes. Homophones definitely trip my BF up and it drives me bonkers!

DH. He's one of those went to college at 15, has a PhD at 24, solves differential equations on napkins types. I'm super competitive, and I generally alternate between being proud of him and wanting to clobber him.

He's more likable, too - he doesn't like socializing any more than I do but he has a better game face.

And his hair is ridiculously thick and healthy and I know I'll go bald before he does.

Bah.

I think we are both smart in different ways

We are both tradespeople, but in different fields, that can cause some interesting discussions :)

He is very smart in science, geography and the like

Me.. more arts, music and such

He is great on cars, i hate looking under the bonnet

But i had to fix the retic as he didn't cut the pipe properly :)

It's one of the things i love about him, we can have interesting conversations

This is us, too. I was going to say that FI has higher "EQ."

Ha. I'd say "tie". We laugh that our SAT scores are 10 pts apart. However, we each have our big blind spots .... he's much more math/science/history oriented & I'm more .... okay he wins.

I'm more studious than my husband but he knows more about financial matters and computer things than I'll ever understand. I'll research anything and he pretty much just wants the Cliff Notes version of what I find out.

Its a tie, he is smarter then me in some things and I am smarter then him in other things...so I would say we break even :appl:

Perfect SAT. Perfect ACT. Stopped at a bachelor's, but had tested out of all the lower classes so completed his bachelor's by taking all master's level courses. Finished high school at 15 (14?). Great at math and sciences. Able to play multiple musical instruments. Fluent in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, and Hebrew (feel like I'm missing a couple here). Okay in Rumanian, Arabic, Latin, and others I can't remember. Impressive knowledge of history, geography, and pretty much any other subject you care to mention.

He also cooks (really well!), cleans, and is handy around the house!

So.... yeah. Definitely smarter.

We are equal which I like :))

Well, overall I'd say I am smarter. When we watch Jeopardy together, I get more of the clues. ;)

DH is great at math, but forget anything to do with writing or reading! Poor guy just can't spell or use grammar properly, lol. I'm fluent in two languages and I am an incredibly fast reader, but math always was my worst subject. We balance each other out well.

We're pretty even, but our strengths differ.

I'm the one with common sense... and I'm a better communicator, writer, and reader.

He is book smart. He's a lover of current events, maps and geography, and all things related to pharmacology. His knowledge of chemicals totally turns me on  (Kidding, kind of... but I do admire his "smarts"!)

He would tell you that I am smarter, but I think it's only because I have a graduate degree. I am book smart. He is intelligent about other things, such as music, that I cannot even compare with.
