Whole 30 anyone???

Unfortunately, for me that equation never worked. Work out more eat less has failed me for years. Doctors always thought I was lying when I said I would eat many days of less than 1000 calories and gain two pounds. What I ate mattered, not the calories. Metabolic dysfunction and insulin resistance changes the formula. I used to exercise myself to exhaustion and would lose some but when I couldn’t continue at that pace I would quickly gain it back. Now I exercise because I want to to be healthy and don’t get weight at the drop of a single chip and have a ton more energy. Everyone has to find what works for each body, I think.

This has been an interesting thread! I have more recently wanted to (again) become more healthy as I've seen the scale inch up. I'm close to pregnancy weight (while not being pregnant AND my youngest is 12) :-o:cry2:

Over the past, almost month I think, I've tried a few things. Two of them lasted 4 days each: 2-week diet and Keto. I didn't care for either as I feel that I need more balance. Keto was NOT the best for me as it was too restrictive. If it works for you GREAT!!! I like what @luv2sparkle said that "Everyone has to find what works for each body"

My friend posted a while back about wanting an accountability group, so I've created on w/a few friends. So far, its been mostly my main friend and I posting about our challenges. For me, this has been helpful even though I've gained weight (we just got back from a mini vacation where I didn't count calories NOR did I really pay attention to what I was eating, but felt STUFFED for most of the time :silenced:).

I'm back on the wagon, so to speak, and will be reading and paying attention to what I'm eating, including more salads into my diet. ;)
 
@soxfan Count me in! I'm already GF with minimal dairy but could do better for 30 days.

That is awesome! I hear that from so many who try.

I was doing great for the first few days but am getting sick from a medicine I just increased dosage on. The nurse says to increase the fat I am eating and see if I changed my diet at all.

I have had to resort to eating a couple of not W30 things to try to keep something in. Just picked up a med that will hopefully help so I can jump back in.

Down 13 pounds in just three weeks so something is working!
 
I would like to start a W30/keto on 1 September if anyone else is interested? It has been a rollercoaster year and my diet and exercise have gone out the window - have lost a lot of weight but unfortunately it is all my hard-earned muscle and now I am somewhat skinny-fat. I am usually 85-ish% paleo and have flirted on and off with kept which suits me fantastically. Looking for some virtual support, plus Hangout will help keep any DSS/CSSS at bay :lol-2:
 
Whole 30 isn’t Keto. The whole 30 creators warn against trying to incorporate Keto into their cleanse. If you do whole 30 and are strict about it without cheating at all, your body will go into fat burning mode at about week three.

Hiya, yep Whole 30 and keto are different, I should have been clearer as I have done both before; I am usually paleo-ish, and do well on keto (all of my lifting PB's were achieved when fasted during strict keto adherence). So I was just looking for virtual buddies who want to do either/or from 1st September. Have you done keto before? How are you feeling post-Whole 30? (not blobby like me I'm sure :D)

pretty much! Mine’ll be trying to undo the effects of too much work/travel for work and not enough chill and exercising
