Who knows a reputable appraiser in downtown Boston

Hi,

I am traveling down to Boston for work and would like to pickup my diamond there. As I don''t have a car I will be limited to downtown Boston. Does anyone know a reputable appraiser there that could evaluate a diamond for me?

I had a look on the forum and have come accross names like Marty Hasky etc but as I am not familiar with the area I would appreciate some help.

Yo, Tarzan,

Just wanted to share a couple of things:

Both Jeff Averbrook spend in various ways considerable time on this board, and would probably not be welcome if either did anything unfavorable. Hopefully, a happy user will wander by, or search (using the search function here) and find them.

Also, do use the resource here, also above upper right under Resources, to find several, including these two. Though only Art DeMello seems to be in downtown Boston, and his range of reported equipment alone would make me want to call him up for an inquiry, I''ll bet both Marty & Jeff are reachable by metro, and worth consideration. For some reason, I remember people some years ago messing with Art, because he had a company name that was identical to some other outfit, and so he changed it...but I don''t remember anything more than that about him.

Marty has done some work for me and I can give my highest recommendation there (you probably ran across my post on this) - I have the idea that it's fairly quick getting from downtown to where he is by commuter train, but he'd have to give you details on that.

Edit to add that Jeff appears knowledgeable and helpful based on his posts here, but I haven't worked with him.
