Alright folks, I have felt shady not putting up a bio since all the regulars have and I have entertained myself with their private details but I''m better with an interview so . . . How about you guys post questions and I will answer them? Sound good?

In the meantime, if you want to know what I look like, here we are:

OK. We have established you are a beautiful couple. I'll start it off. My first questions are:

What is your marital status? If you are engaged, when are you getting married? If you are married, for how long have you been married?

What kind of ring(s) do you have and have you posted any pictures of *them* here?

Where do you live (in what state)? Did you grow up there? Did your fiance/husband?

Do you have a career? If so, what is it?

How did you discover Pricescope and when?

Would you start us off now, Lanee?

Deborah

Thank you AGBF, what a sweet thing to say!

We are engaged, and we have decided we will surprise everyone with our wedding date (which is why I stopped talking about plans) so I can't share that info since you never know who is lurking in this forum.

We recently ordered my e-ring. Ritani, three stone endless love. 1.38 carat total weight one. We wanted the larger one but it's just not practical right now since we had to buy a new car when we were used to not having a car payment. My ring size is a 4 so I'm sure it'll look fine when I get it. I absolutely loved that ring the minute I laid eyes on it (in person). As soon as I get it (should be any day now) I'll post pics.

Carlos and I are both born and raised in Chicago. We have both spent a short duration living in other parts (he in Japan and I in Texas) but Chicago is home for us and the furthest we might get before retirement is a suburb of Chicago.

I do work, in finance but wish I had pursued a college education because I really wanted to be a chemist.

I can't remember how I stumbled onto Pricescope but I'm so happy I did. I think I may have been looking for my future e-ring (late last year) and a Pricescope thread came up and I have loved it ever since. It's my favorite forum!

BTW, I tried the pumpkin bundt cake and it is delicious! I posted a comment in that thread.

And I'm sure by now you know I am the girl.

With such good questions, you're making this easy. If there is anything else you'd like to know about me, just ask.

You guys are too cute!!!

So where is the page long novel that the rest of us have posted?!?!? Come on! Don't be stingy!

Mara, I'm not being stingy I promise, what do you want to know?

Lanee,

I already knew you were the girl; that's why I referred to your "fiance/husband" rather than your "fiancee/wife" :-).

Thank you for sharing what you did. I *DO* want to see pictures of the ring!!!

How did Carlos land is Japan? Is Carlos of Hispanic background? Does he speak Spanish? Does he speak Japanese? How did you land in finance (my husband's field, by the way) by accident? Is there a reason why you cannot pursue a degree in chemistry after you are married? (I understand there are car payments! On the other hand, Carlos might be able to help put you through school. What does *he* do?)

Why are you drawn to chemistry?

Deb

PS-Mara, all you have to do is ASK. Lanee is *willing*; she just doesn't know where to *start*!!!

PPS-I already saw the posting on the pumpkin bundt cake! I keep a *VERY* close eye on the Priceless Recipes forum!!!

Do you have a picture of your ring?

What is your cat's name?

Some one else asked if I was the boy or girl, I know you, sorry about the mix up.

Carlos was in the Marines and was stationed in Japan. We are both Puerto Rican and lovin' it. We both speak spanish. He is in law enforcement and we met when I got arrested. Just kidding. We met when I moved here from Houston the summer before my sophmore year in HS.

Mara tune in, this is the looong story you asked for.

My cousin had just started dating this guy (Lu) and it was still in the group dates stage so she invited me and another cousin out with them and he invited Carlos. I had a crush on him after that night, he was so quiet and I was drawn to that. Well, long story short, in another few couple of group outtings my cousin realized she like one of Lu's good friends (Ed) more than she liked him and moved on. She dated Ed on and off until recently (and the jury is still out on it). Months later Carlos got to know me better through the group outtings my cousin and Ed invited us and others to. He did develop a thing for me but I started dating someone right before he fessed up so the window was gone. Well three years later, I run into Lu at a Walgreens stop on my way to a club and it turned out he was attending Carlos's going away party (Marines) across the street. Well we exchanged numbers to catch up and we ended up dating and marrying and divorcing and what do you know . . .here are Carlos and I living happily ever after.

Now I must add, Luis and Carlos were not friends, merely acquaintences through mutual friends. They only went out together a couple of time when they first met but they were too different to strike up a real friendship. In fact Luis was only at Carlos's going away party because his long times friends were there. And, in the 7 years I spent with Luis, I didn't see Carlos once or hear of him. We actually got hooked up by -again- my cousin inviting both of of us one night. They had remained friends through her relationship with Ed who is one of Carlos's best friends.

WOW, after I posted that I reread your post and realized you asked how I landed in Finance, not how I landed my fiance. Reading way too fast!

I was an administrative assistant in an office that needed a book keeper so I learned to keep book (property accounting) left there to be a portfolio analyst and left there to be a finance analyst.

Chemistry has fascinated me since I took Chemistry in high school. And though there are lots of shows now about forensic science, my mom used to read a lot of mystery novels and watch a lot of sherlock holmes mystery theatre and I guess growing up watching all that mystery theatre got me intrigued. I knew I didn't want to be a pathologist, dealing with dead bodies but I did want to analyze crime evidence and poisons, compositions of various matter. I wish I had pursued it.

Now that I'm a little older I think I just want to raise my children (when I have some) and don't want a career. And I certainly don't want to start one now and have to worry about putting off children to establish myself or finish school. Carlos completely supports either idea. Just last night he said after we get married he would like for us to figure out a way to send me back to school.

I never did it before because it was always a big issue with Luis, he hated the idea of me going to school. He does construction and makes good money and started right out of high school so he always felt college was a waste of my time and money. And my parents told me, "if you wanted it bad enough you would have earned it-no scholarship, no school"

I did pay for a semester myself but was too distracted by my home life to do well.

And how's that for a long story? Mara?

F&I thanks for asking, The Love of My Life's name is Pookie. I have had her for 11 (going on 12) years. And no, no picture yet.

Hah! That's one of hubby's names for me. She's 11 years young. Cats can live sooo long. We had two that lived to 17,18 years.

I hope she lives for a long, long time.
