I think you are in Italy. You like Dolce & Gabanna. And, you have a master set of diamonds.

So............

I'll add to this.

He's kind, helpful, and bright. His English is fantastico and he doesn't mind me butchering Italian.

And he greatly resembles a young Marcello Mastroianni.

He likes Prada too. In fact he visites quite regularly and is on the hunt for a pink Prada purse for me...hee hee...which he has yet to find because I don't think Prada makes authentic bags in pink.

He's in Italy...he has a small ACA stone which is the picture in his avatar. I bet he's got some other fun gems too.

Oh and he's an absolute helpful sweetheart...

Giangi is just great and extremly helpful and nice!

Geez, this is beginning to read like a Fan Club

Can we make buttons or avatars?

I would like to hear his story though.

....I was born when Mom hit a bump in her Vespa....

Ask and ye shall receive...

It's fun honing the Photoshop skills....

Oh dear - now he has quite a bit to live up to.

Ahem. Giangi is a guy?

Yes indeed! "Giangi" is a common Italian nickname for a man whose first name is Gianni (pronounced, "Johnny").

Giangi: Will you enlighten us with your story?

Awwwww guys, I'm about to cry... Okay okay, I will prepare my story tomorrow... Stay tuned! I love you all!

BTW, Deb, I am still laughing!

You ask it & you get it. Here we go. Please be kind.

I am very, very young.
1.gif
And yes, I am a guy. Giangi is just a nick for my name, you know, just like Richard and Rich. And I’m not Gianni
2.gif
. I’m in Bologna, Italy. This wonderful town, rich of art and culture, is in the north and it’s where lasagne were born, if you like italian food.
I’m still in school.
4.gif
Here school is organised in a different way than in the States...Basically the subects I take are math, physic, italian, art, history, philosophy, latin, french and English. So you see that I’m getting both a classical and scientific preparation. I still don’t know what I’ll end up doing at the university.
As you might have seen from my tag line, I like latin. Since I’ve gotten several inquiries, I’ll post here the translation for the quotes, which I really love... They are so true.
2.gif

1st quote: Smoke blown away by the wind is human glory.

2nd quote: (Phaedrus)
Personam tragicam forte vulpes viderat;
quam postquam huc illuc semel atque iterum verterat,
'O quanta species' inquit 'cerebrum non habet!'
Hoc illis dictum est quibus honorem et gloriam
Fortuna tribuit, sensum communem abstulit.

The Fox and the Tragic Mask
A Fox saw a Tragic Mask - "0h, how beautiful!
But it hasn't a brain!"
This holds whenever the Fate gives
luck, power, beauty and everything but sense.
(I know my translation is suprisingly horrible, but this is all I can do
1.gif
)

My days are quite boring, I go to school in the morning, then in the afternoon I do my homework (ugh) and lurk a bit on the net... If I have some time to spare I go out with friends and have some healthy shopping. AND, on Saturday nite I go clubbing. It’s a must.
2.gif

I have two passions: diamonds and clothes. As many of you have cleverly noticed, I love D&G (how in the world did you understand it??
Up_to_something.gif
9.gif
), at the point that I myself call me D&Gaholic
1.gif
. I am really into trendy clothes (not baggy ones). I think I spend more time at their boutique than I do at my house. OF COURSE, D&G isn’t everything. I love Prada, Roberto Cavalli and Gucci too! He he!
9.gif

One word about gemology and CZ master sets: I started to like gems and minerals when I was little and now the hobby has developped into a big big passion of mine. I’ve read a countless time of books and a couple of years ago a friend of mine gave me his GIA diamond corse that he had already taken. It was great fun for me and I’ve completed it, although I’ve never took any official exam. But it’s kewl nevertheless. This is why I started collecting some professional tools: lamps, magnification tools, a mater set and so on. All I need is an OGI.
2.gif
Ah well, I guess I will have to wait. I collect diamonds & precious stones in general as well as south sea pearls. Yes Mara, I have a 0.241 ACA as well as many other different sizes & qualities, including a few 1 caraters. I am the only Royal Asscher owner in Italy: it’s a very wealthy 0.21cts!
1.gif
But it’s too cute! I do have a pretty natural fancy blue diamond as well
1.gif
. I’ll try and post a pic if I have a chance. My favorite colored stones are blue sapphires. I luv blue color and blue jeans! I like to help friends here in Italy getting a nice stone and not getting taken for a ride... It’s funny and it gives me a lot of satisfaction seeing people happy w/their diamonds.
21.gif

I do love reading books, listening to music as well as travelling. I’ve been to the US of A several times and we’re actually planning to come back this winter. I love New York. It’s SO me.
10.gif

I am sooooo glad I’ve found pricescope. Now I can tell everyone I have a bunch of friends all over the world. And what an incredibile group of kind, bright and intelligent folks you are... And it's always great fun for me spending some time with my big family.

I am so proud of it.

You cannot even image how much I have appreciated your kind words in this thread...

I am truly impressed. And I can tell you that AGBF's italian is great.

Ms. Scooby Doo is improving.

So...This is me. I know, nothing as exciting as you were expecting, but that’s me. Nice to meet you all!

Young is all relative.
10.gif

Very nice to meet you! So, you are a vetern rock hound! After your studies, will you continue to make it a hobby or will it transpire into a career?

It's funny how personalities translate on the net. I would have quessed you to be a young, hip, man about town. To add, maybe it's a sterotype, but I see you owning a Vespa.

Oh, Giangi, you came clean about your age! I would never have given you away! As fire&ice said, age is relative. You are very young in spirit, but you are far older in other ways. You are very mature about your priorities and you are very balanced inetellectually. You hold your own (and more) on this forum full of people decades older than you. You are spectacular by any standard!

Deb

Interesting intro!
wavey.gif

It's really great to know that you are a young one too and as F&I and AGBF have mentioned earlier, age is relative and you come across as being mature from your postings. I was wondering about your avatar obssesion with D&G but now it's all clear, you're not only a diamond fanatic but a fashion one too!

Ahhh, my dear, sweet, Italian friend!
love.gif
He has been a real source of information and knowledge for me. And, what a character he is as well!! Giangi's posts on the open Forums don't do his personality any justice at all!!

Actually, PQ, it's why I thought him to be very young. The ability to think *outside* the box - it's only drilled out of us as we get older. And, I'm glad he gave you some sage advice.

Yes, his demeanor on the forum is not what led me to think youth. But did you have to drive the *decades* point home.
