As for Law School - I don''t blame you, LOL. I think my DH is insane.
Oh, law school was just a MISERABLE experience for me! Ironicially the professer I had for evidence now lives in my complex and I see him at the gym several times a week. He''s a perfectly nice guy outside of school!
LOL! Too funny.

Oy, Chicago. I''ve spend many a miserable hour locked in Chigaco O''Hare. Ugh.

Hi DeeJay!!! Its fab to read about you! Where did you hike in England? Also we must see pics of your furbabies!!

I moved house 8 times in 10 years but I was an army wife! What makes you want to move so much?
I actually didn''t do any hiking in England, just Switzerland, Italy and France. Unless of course you count the hiking I did from one pub to another!
2.gif

As for why I move so much... The HH''s answer is BECAUSE THERE''S SOMETHING *WRONG* WITH ME, ha ha! Seriously, I don''t know. I just LOVE the thrill of finding a new place, moving in, fixing it up... and then doing it all over again!

I too want to hear about how you met Bill at The ''Buck!

And tell us more about how your jewelry collection hobby. What was your first piece?
Bill ''Buck story to follow!

My jewelry collection started on a small scale, the first "real" piece I bought for myself was a tri-color rolling ring the first time I went to Rome, and things just grew from there. I''m trying to branch out to things other than rings, becuase that is what I have the most of, so we''ll see what new things start showing up in my jewelry box!

Who better for a whose who than Dee?! You are so wonderful and genuine, and I am in awe of your jewelry shopping abilities.

Aside from your currently planned trip, where would you like to travel that you haven''t been to yet?
If you only had a month to live what would you do?
What''s your favorite thing to eat?
You are just too sweet Kimi!

I haven''t been anywhere in Asia, so I would love to go there, and Australia too. So many places on this planet to get to!

If I only had one month to live I would hop on a plane and just GO! (See answer to question #1, LOL.)

My favorite meal is a wonderful steak, some SUPER crispy thin fries, and a nice glass of red wine. Something chocolate for dessert doesn''t hurt either!

ETA: I HATE mayo.
Thank you Marcy!

Yah, I don't know what it is about mayo, but I can't get NEAR the stuff. Just the idea of it makes me gag -- ack!!!

DO IT!

There must be an inside joke to that, that I don''t get. Sounds like it could be rather amusing though!

OK, so here is the “Bill in ‘Bucks” story…

I had been seeing this Chicago Police Sergeant who worked the 4-12 shift. After roll call every day he would swing by the Starbucks near my house and we would meet up for coffee.

One day I went in, got my mocha, and sat down on a stool at the long counter by the windows. Over the few minutes I was waiting the place really filled up and pretty soon the seat beside me was the only one left. This guy came in, got his coffee, and sat down next to me. Someone at the very end of the counter (so about 8 seats down) was telling this really long interesting story and the guy beside me and I were blatantly eavesdropping (trust me—it was a GREAT story!). When the story guy got done, the guy beside me turned to me and said, wow, that was crazy! And I said, yah, did you hear the part about… ? We started chatting and all the sudden I realized my boyfriend was going to be there ANY MINUTE, so I said to the guy, hey, I’m just starving! Do you want to go have dinner? He was like, um, sure, it’s only four o’clock in the afternoon, but if you’re hungry we can have dinner…

That was in September of 2007 and the rest is history!

So you totally ditched boyfriend for Bill. That's great!! So......how did Bill propose to you?

He says he's always regretted not doing it in the Starbucks where we met, but this is how he really did it:

We were going to Mexico and I was upstairs shoving clothes in a suitcase as fast as I could because our plane was leaving in LESS THAN TWO HOURS (yes, that is a typical Dee thing, LOL). Bill sat down on the bed and started telling me all these nice things...

Him: So I really had no idea what wonderful things lay in store for me when I took that tempory assignment in Chicago last year.
Me (thinking out loud): Five pairs of socks, five pairs of underwear.
Him: And my life is so much better now that I've met you.
Me: Three sundresses and my big floppy hat.
Him: And I can't imagine my future without you.
Me: Where the hell are my brown sandals?

Suddenly, he is on his knee by the bed, and I was like, what? Did my socks roll under there or something?

And then he produced the ring box.

I said, oh, great, is that my ring? Plane leaves in 1 hour 45 minutes -- LET'S GO!

He put the ring on my finger and we bolted for the airport.

To this day he maintains I never said "yes," LOL.
